Take a look at Kari and Dave’s OFFICIAL engagement pictures. I met Kari when she first contacted me about shooting her wedding. Her fiance (Dave) has a sister and her husband works with my husband (did you get all that?), so he recommended me to them (Thanks, Greg!). Dave also works with my husband, but I didn’t know that at the time! Since our initial contact, we’ve become great friends! They were my star couple for the fun 1950’s shoot we did this spring and for the vintage, earthy shoot! I can promise you will be seeing more and more of them in the future in addition to their wedding. They love to have their picture taken and I love to take them! It’s a match made in heaven!!!
So, these were planned well in advance. I let them do most of the location scouting since I’m pretty sheltered and don’t know Pittsburgh too well. We met up and they drove me around to different locations! We didn’t get to stop at all of them since the traffic was pretty horrendous this night, but we’re going to go back for wedding anniversary shoots in the future!
Enjoy!
This first set was shot in the Strip District. I am LOVING the colors of these photos and the very industrial feel!
Then, we moved on to the Hot Metal Bridge. We had actually planned to shoot some in the daytime and some in the nighttime. I don’t usually do this but I had a specific vision in mind. Needless to say, once the sun started to set, the light was changing rapidly and THEN different lights in the city and on the bridge started popping on here and there. Lots of in camera changes had to be made and quickly. I felt like I was at a wedding reception playing the lottery. I never knew when more or less lights were going to go on/off!
I’m making them work hard on their dip!!! These pictures are some of my favorites!
You all know it. Everyone dances at my shoots. These two knew it from our previous sessions, so they snuck a kiss in too!!!! AHHHH! Magic!
Everyone walks and snuggles at my shoots now! It’s my new thing in addition to dancing!
This one (below) might be my favorite!!!!!
I had originally planned to do some really harsh light/flash photos. Then. I was loving the photos above so much I only ended up snapping a few. I knew there was no way I’d love the flash photos more than the others!
…a little fun with an umbrella and some rain.
It’s getting DARK in Pittsburgh!
Next, we stopped at this spot near High Mark Stadium. I thought they turned out neat!
I hope you enjoyed! Now, for a little fun….check out these images below. The photo on the left was taken in May. At that time, I joked that they needed to practice their dip. I don’t think they’ve been practicing enough! HA! As a result, Kari’s going to make my husband and I dip at my 30th birthday party coming up! I don’t want to eat my own words, so you know I’ll be practicing!!! <3 you both!
These two will be married October 2017. Check back for more photos of this wonderful couple!
