A True Throw-Back-Thursday with Cross Creek!

This is a TRUE Throw-Back-Thursday post!  This is a throw back to before Cross Creek had a single coming out, before I shot in manual, AND before I even had a fancy DSLR camera.  I thought it’d be fun on this rainy day!  It’s just a little over a week until the big Cross Creek single debut party too! GET YOUR TICKETS!!!

This picture was shot years ago…..2008 or 2009?  Maybe 2010.  I’m not particularly sure.  It was actually shot with a good old point and shot camera.  I was just starting to get an idea that I loved photography.  This photo has not been retouched aside from a little color correction.  It was a total accident.  I had no idea what I was doing.  I literally put my good old point and shoot on the ground and pressed it’s shutter.  It did the rest.  Ironically, it’s one of my favorite Cross Creek pictures.  I just love that sun!  What are the chances?!

These pictures below were shot at a local bar in Avella, PA.  I’d never shot in manual before.  I actually had no real idea how to use my camera.  I was just starting to get the feel for things.  I literally Googled “low light shooting techniques” and quickly found that I needed to take the scary leap and take control of my camera.  They aren’t the best.  I didn’t really even know how to use photoshop yet.  That picture of Johnny on the left drives.me.crazy.  It should have been straightened right off the bat, but that’s what this post is about.  The throw back.  The times before when we were all different.  This shows how far we’ve all come and how much we’ve grown!

These were shot with my crop sensor.  It didn’t handle the high ISO well and you can tell.  I’ve tried to embrace the grain.  I just can’t get there, but maybe some more low light situations will force me to love it a little more!
