Hello, everyone! I want you to meet Sarah and Nathan! I met these two at another wedding I photographed last fall. Ironically, Sarah and Nathan had been posing at the reception with “Mr. & Mrs.” signs and I ran over and snapped a photo of them! Little did I know, these two would be engaged and would ask me to photograph their wedding when they get to be the bride and groom!! Since she was a bridesmaid in the other wedding, she already knew what she was getting herself into when she hired me! It’s such a flattering experience when I get to see and work with couples I’ve met at other weddings! I’m a lucky girl getting to do what I do and I can’t stop being overly thankful for the wonderful couples who ask and trust me to capture some of their most precious memories!
We planned this engagement shoot months ago!! This was the perfect date because it was EXACTLY one year before their wedding! Then, it rained. It rained a lot the night before and it just wouldn’t stop the next morning! While some photographers and couples may have canceled, these two remained positive and wanted to go for it, despite the drizzle. I was thrilled! So, I threw my rain coat and my camera’s rain coat (which I didn’t even end up using…HA!) in my car and off I went! We met up in Bethany, WV at Bethany College and took advantage of both the beautiful, wet sidewalks and the covered areas that protected us from the rain. The whole thing just worked!! You’ll see!
Here are some of my favorites! Enjoy!
Sarah is so kind and has a gentle personality. She’s so easy to work with and you’ll see that the girl does NOT have a bad angle!! The light hits her in all the right places and her love for Nathan shines. Nathan, or Nate, compliments her perfectly and I got the impression he was holding back a bit on a secret, quirky personality! Any time I did a test shot, he had something to do to make us giggle! I have the proof, but I’ll save those photos for the wedding day! When it came time for the real photos, he did everything that was asked plus more while making both of us laugh and giggle and smile! It was an overly wonderful session and I had a great time….even with the rain!
Seriousky, check out how great they are together!! By the way…that’s my flash umbrella not a real umbrella! HA! My clear umbrellas are on order becuase they didn’t survive last year….so I made due with what I had and it worked perfectly!
The love and the cuteness of these ones below! AHHHH!! I can’t get enough!
I had to get some rings shots, of course! Her ring is gorgeous and has some hints of blue which is going to be INCREDIBLE for detail shots since her wedding colors are navy, peach, and silver!!!
These ones below are definitely my favorites!! The brick and their outfits plus their poses and general happiness make these outstanding! I told her she might need to start styling shoots for me!! I loved their outsfits!
I get the impression she MAY have been a dancer at one time or another!! Check out her form!!! Can’t you just picture her wedding photos!!! AAAHHHHHHH! Gorgeous!
Last but not least, an honest to goodness kissing photo! Here is the thing – When you get couples to walk and dance and snuggle (which you all know, by now, ALL my couples have to do at one time during a session), they let their guard down and you get honest moments like this!! This was not posed and you can tell! Love it!
Congrats to the two of you!! I hope you enjoyed your session as much as I did! Sarah and Nathan will be getting married next year at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elm Grove, WV. They will celebrate their marriage at Grand Vue in Moundsville, WV. Be sure to check back next year to see them all dolled up again!
If you want to see photos of Sarah playing the role of bridesmaid last year in Alexis and Zach’s wedding, you can find the wedding gallery here.
Happy Sunday, everyone!! Stay warm!
