Erica & Billy’s Fall Engagement Session

Hello and Happy Tuesday, everyone! NEW COUPLE ALERT! I got to meet (officially and in person) Erica and Billy this past Thursday! The weather last week for their engagement session was 10/10 PERFECT and OoOOoo so fall! So, I’d like to introduce these two to you…and you know what to do! Please give them all your Hannah Barlow Photography love and ENJOY! Their very FALL engagement session is live!

I got to meet virtually with these two this past summer…so it was totally fun to meet them in person and get down to their engagement photos! They told me in their couple fun fact survey that they compliment each other with both their similarities AND their differences and I could totally see that right off the bat! They’re super easy to photograph. Erica’s like me and has a super outgoing personality and loves to chat while Billy is very calm and go with the flow. Opposites DO attract! My husband and I are much the same!

See what I mean?! HA! Erica didn’t hesitate to break the ice and give us some great outtakes!

But we got right back down to business too! These two got engaged at Smith Falls in Nebraska while hiking with a big group of their family. She told me her sister’s favorite part was when she exclaimed, “It’s soooooo shiny” and you’ll see here in a minute…her ring IS very shiny! Their outfits for this location were perfect to give us that cozy, autumn vibe!

To the dead stuff!!! I don’t think I’ll EVER get over the beauty that is the dead stuff in the fall! If you know me, you KNOW I will always gravitate to a place that lights up like this!

We did the traditional walking and snuggling, of course! They NAILED the snuggle!

Then, we went on a hike for a bridge. I knew about a bridge…but I was super excited to find this new bridge Billy was talking about. Plot twist…the bridge Billy was talking about was the bridge I knew about (which I hadn’t been to since 2017ish). The bridge wasn’t in this actual location though. After our 15 minute search…I realized they actually had a dinner to get to…AHHHHH!!! Cue the Hannah panic! If you know me well, you know I’m all about being on time and these two were going to be LATE! So, we opted to take advantage of another favorite little location of mine by this lake!

They were totally calm, cool and collected about it all…even while everyone was gathered at a dinner for them. I forced myself to calm and they assured me it was A OK! They even offered for me to go and have margaritas and dinner with them! They’re sweet people and take even sweeter photos. I don’t know how to properly describe it but I’d give them a pose and they’d just run with their own version! That gave me SO much variety! You’ll see what I mean below!

…AND WE FOUND THE BRIDGE! We were determined…and I’m not sure who was more determined to find it – Billy or me! Totally worth it because the sun was still so bright and warm up there and gave us so much fall colors to work with!

SEE?! It IS shiny! I had to show off this beautiful engagement ring!

Then, before we sealed the deal on this session, we went to this little location where they first met. The sun was absolutely beautiful and it was a great way to end their engagement photos.

And before we go, these photos below actually happened at the beginning of the session! We had Erica’s grandma and Billy’s grandpa (and Erica’s mom as assistant) come and do some family formals with us! I could NOT forget to include them!

And that’s a wrap on another fall engagement session! These two are planning a simple but elegant wedding next year! We actually photographed their session one year and one day from next year! They want it to be a big party with all their closest family and friends! So, check back next year to see them all dressed up as bride and groom! Happy Tuesday, everyone!
