A Casual Pittsburgh Engagement Session | Emelia + Ben

Hello! Happy Thursday, everyone! NEW COUPLE ALERT! I finally got to meet Emelia and Ben in person! I felt like I knew a lot about Emelia because she’s kept in contact via email, Instagram AND texts now. She’s always keeping up with what I’m doing and has become a faithful follower (right down to catching my typos on my posts which I SOOOooOOOo appreciate..because if you know me …you know…walking typo here)! She even listens to the podcast! YAY! So, with all that being said…I was super pumped to met Ben and see who Emelia would be marrying! We met up at a parking lot in Pittsburgh and took a walk to Point State Park! NOW, you know what to do! Give them all your Hannah Barlow Photography and ENJOY…their engagement session is live on the blog!

I got easy and good vibes from these two right off the bat! No fuss and we got right down to photos after our small hike and chat (because you know…I never stop talking…ever)! These two told me in their fun fact survey that their families have known each other for a long time but they really didn’t “know” each other until they randomly ran into one another a few years ago at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh (which comes into play here in a bit!). A concert later and the rest is history!

Walking and snuggling was a must! Ben wasn’t so sure about photos but I promised him it would allllll make sense and translate in the finished product! I sure hope I hit the mark…but the fun we were having right off the bat at the beginning of this session can be seen!

Sitting photos aren’t easy! They NAILED IT! If I’m being honest, I always get nervous prompting a sitting photo. Most people don’t like them in the end but Emelia jumped at this when I mentioned it…and she was correct. They do a GREAT sitting photo!

See what I mean?!

Heyyyyyyyyyy!!! There is Acrisure stadium!!! This is where they “met” SO…let’s dance!

The more muted tones for this session was PERFECT considering they are planning a black and white wedding at Enchanted Acres Glass!!! OoooOh my goodness ME! I can’t even wait to see it all come together!

This is when I knew they were comfy in front of my camera. I told them to go to the point of the stairs and she busted out the Titanic pose! YESSSSSS!!!!! It’s for sure going on Instagram! HA!

There’s always a point in the session when things just start to come together on their own. This was that point…all the laughs, smiles…Ben was moving effortlessly through poses and Emelia was cheering him on and making him laugh…it’s PERFECT!

More sitting and gazing photos!!!! I’ve got IDEAS for their wedding next year! They are going to make a stunning pair as bride and groom…like magazine worthy!

Remember how I said they met at Acrisure stadium?! WELLLLLL…it was for a Rolling Stones concert! YESSSS!!! So, when she told me she wanted to change it up I was ALL for it! ANDDDD these developed on the fly (brick wasn’t planned) and I love them so much! SO MUCH!

We were racing the light at this point and the warmth it added was OoOOoo so good! SO GOOD! My Hannah excitement is showing!

Gotta show off this rock! It’s a gorgeous, flawless beauty! Emelia told me is was a very intimate proposal just to two of them and their dog. They were hiking in Dundee Falls when Ben popped the question!

I got to meet some of Emelia’s family at this session too! Can’t forget them! Shoutout to mom for being the dog handler while we were taking photos without him. You’ll be seeing everyone in less than six months! That’s right! 2025 weddings are right around the corner and I can’t believe it! Let’s hope for great March weather so they can have a wedding ceremony outside! We’ll be ready for some warm weather again!

Thanks for reading everyone…Have an amazing day!
