2024 Hannah Barlow Photography Outtakes

Hello, everyone! Happy Friday! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE NEWLY ENGAGEMENT COUPLES! We’ve got a few more end of year things to take care of…and that means…2024 HANNAH BARLOW PHOTOGRAPHY WEDDING OUTTAKES AND BLOOPERS ARE HERE!

It’s a fan favorite every year so let’s do this!

Starting us off strong…Katie and her veil that quite literally wrapped her all up! We always show those beautiful, elegant veil throwing photos…welp…this is what actually happens sometimes! AND SHE STILL SMILED AND REMAINED STILL! HA! Dedication, I tell ya!

SUBWAY! Subway sandwiches…can we make this a commercial?!

I also have permission to post this one! I was taking a photo of the dress fixing (to be continued later) and Caroline (past bride) posed for this!

It’s a common theme every year. Hair pulling…veil pulling…it all gets captured. It all gets thrown out…except it doesn’t….for this blog! “It’s pulling my hair!”

It always cracks me up. Zach’s just following directions and meanwhile, Madison is all tied up in her veil!

You know you’re at a Hannah Barlow Photography wedding with loyal fans and couples when they request a veil or dress throwing photo…not for the photo…but for the outtakes of the assistants running!

I DO offer to do it while they take the photos! They always decline!

So hot…hair was sticking to us! We’ve NEVER had a year like this! We never got a break!

…couples even brought their own fans!

THE BUGS! OOooooO my goodness THE BUGS too!

Would you believe me if I told you I photoshopped out…all of those?!

But guests and brides were embracing it! Even in the Porta Potties! Missy actually requested this photo!

Not just bugs…but plants were on the attack, as well!

Sparklers too! I got to say multiple times this year…”SEE why this isn’t a good idea?!” HA! Kassie just kept laughing! Poor Cullen!

THIS DRESS…needed it’s own moment and with the wind…it went FLYING! Heat, wind, bugs, plants…it was all after us this year!

…but even beautiful dresses and veils grab..and stick…and get stuck. It’s all day every day for us and that’s expected and part of the job!

THIS was a whole MOMENT! Caroline’s dress needed fixed…which was IRONIC…because her sister’s dress also needed fixed in 2018!!!! I pulled the 2018 photos of Maddie as a bride from archives!

The men deal with wardrobe issues too!! These groomsmen took their pocket squares very seriously (and I seriously appreciate it).

More bugs…more sweat…more dresses in FIELDS!

We’re ALL in in fields sometimes too! “You’re just going to have to trust me”! It’s worth it! Promise!

We lay in fields too even before they are dead! Tyler (Tyler Newpol Films) didn’t hesitate either!

At that same wedding, we get under dresses too!!! We had to pick the bugs out….because…well, hotness and fields!!! Jules is like, “WHY and WHAT are you doing?!” Don’t mind ME!

Ok. OK! This is funny (and she knows I’m posting it). After starting our podcast (What in the Wedding), Ashley (Plans for Perfection) got super close friendship wise…close enough that when she said “I lost my belt…do I look ok?” I literally laughed and said, “It looks like you’re wearing a moo moo” and we laughedddddd and laughedddddd and here I am putting it in the outtakes blog!

…BUT moo moo and lost belt or not…Ashley doesn’t mess around and the ceremony MUST go on. She IS in these photos (below)! And she’s one of the only planners that can go so low to both do her job and stay out of my photos! See that dress flowing?! That’s her!

Yep. She’s STILL back there!

…and always laughing! Even if the building is on fire, we preach “everything is fineeeee” and we smile. Plot twist…the building was NOT on fire. This wedding (Hey, Cody and Nikki!) was flawless!

…she’s going to kill me! HA! She’s not smiling here…just trying to get out of my photos for the reception first look!

Ok. Last one before she takes me off her preferred vendor list! Honesty, she’s probably just checking in with me here and I’m taking exposure test shots while the couple hydrates…because remember…2024 was HOT!

All is fair in love, test shot war and weddings! SEEEEEEE!!!! Enjoy these not so flattering photos of moi!

It’s okayyyyyyyyy. You can laugh! Kassie was laughing at me!

Lacey often texts me “fix your face” because my resting face is horrid. I can ONLY catch her during first looks and ceremonies. She’s all business!

Lauren (Oglebay Weddings) is ALL business too! Years ago, it became our “thing” for her to stand for my test exposure shots. It works…she’s already there with the bridal party. I’m there waiting for announcements…and she takes this job very seriously!

…at every wedding we do together!

We got to work with Penderville Wedding Films this year! WE LOVE when it’s Lacey and Buddy as our seconds…and they stand for test shots too! I had another one but it was rated R so I’ll keep that one to myself!

…and my assistants and seconds have been trained to do test shots too. So, while I’m organizing the couples, I’m often in them too!

AND sometimes we meet new vendor friends (Melanie Atmore) and they jump in and pose with my assistants! LOVED this moment!

Shaelyn posed too for a Golden Hour test shot! It’s GOOD!

…and sometimes it’s just a plain outtake. I’m dancing two photos above…Erin (Plans for Perfection) is dancing below! We often do this too when the exhaustion has set in!

…Kassie and I laughed alllllll day at her wedding. We got serious (for once) here! It must have been good for Lacey to take a photo!

Things apparently were getting serious with Megan and Chris too!

Justin (Justin Geery Films) gets serious too. Lots of times people ask him to take photos but “I’m filming…not photo”. I assume that’s what’s happening here!

Enough about that! Back to making new friends and getting ourselves in funny situations!

These guys were a hoot and so fun to work with! They put up with all of our shenanigans AND just stood by and smiled!

Then there’s THIS guy! I’ve probably worked with DJ Brian Oliver more than any other vendor. We’re a “team” basically at this point! If you can’t afford a planner and hire us together…you’re all set!

…except I almost yelled at him here. LORDDDDDDDDDDDDD have mercy! DURING A CEREMONY!

PUT THAT DOWN!

We were having a TIME (GREAT time) at this wedding though. How do I know? Welllllll because we had time and energy to laugh and smile and enjoy it all! We felt like we were being watched.

Brian felt it too…I had to chuckle.

Pretty sure this was the same wedding! Can’t you feel the excitement in these photos?!

…but…back to people taking my camera. It was a common thing this year…and you can see Justin Geery off to the side just filming away!!!! NO HELP AT ALL! HA!

I bet Tyler would have helped me! He was a new vendor we met this year and I quickly added him to the preferred vendor list! (Tyler Newpol Films)

Other funny things that happened this year, the garter and bouquet toss came back! BUT…absolutely no one at any wedding wanted to catch it! This happened at other weddings too! I just couldn’t find the photos!

Family and sibling photos were funnnnnnyyyy this year too!

This groom (Hey, Chris!) took a moment to rest during bridesmaid photos!

Lacey “stole” (she didn’t) a security sign. We just needed it gone for like 15 minutes AND someone kept putting it back…so we snatched it. AND SHE DID put it back! Can’t have that in the back of our photos though!

Lacey is the ultimate multitasker though! She had photo lists and a pen above and she was calling the planner while taking photos below!

Erin is both planner AND bridesmaid multitasking at Amanda and Noah’s wedding!

…ANDDDD even though this was the last wedding of the year, this will be where all the real shenanigans start in this blog!

More tongues out! HA! That’s Olivia’s dad too!

Guests throughout the year got into it too!! From showing off the centerpiece I was taking a photo of to heel clicks and dancing coming out of the bathroom…we had it all!

Sam (the last Harrison twin to get married AND RECENTLY ENGAGED)…was missing her partner at her sister’s wedding this summer!

..and at that same wedding, Joey thought his mom was going to poke him!

Justin made a LAST MINUTE non-decision…”what do I do with the dog?!” I said, “I don’t know! What did you practice last night at rehearsal?!” and he gave me this look…which, of course…I took a photo of!

This groom was posing with the “wifey” jacket!

I ran from kids…kids ran from us!

Kids are funny…but kids this year were actually REALLY great to photograph!

Makeup and nose hairs…CHECK!

Who would have thought we’d see this?!

OR THISSSS…talk about trust!

…and all great and comical things must come to an end…

SoOooO TWO THUMBS UP FOR 2024!!!!! My goodness was it magical and amazing…THE PEOPLE…Gosh the people we spent these days with were great!
