Kaylee & Ryan’s Summer Winery Wedding

Hi, Everyone! I got to explore AND photograph a wedding a few weeks ago at the newest and SUPER now popular local venue – Hidden Acres Lodge and Winery in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Kaylee and Ryan were my first of many couples who will be getting married and/or celebrating at this venue (I actually have three total just this year…the next one being this coming weekend ironically). So, I’ll show you all the things and tell you all the things, as I always do…but first…let’s give these two all your Hannah Barlow Photography love! Kaylee and Ryan have been married almost two weeks now and their wedding is on the blog now! Enjoy!

I started out my day heading to the winery early! Any time it’s a new venue, I like to get there early and get a lay of the land and take some detail shots. The venue details did NOT disappoint!

The details this couple and family planned didn’t disappoint either!!! There was NO detail missed including the signs on the door of the getting ready area!

Did you KNOW…if you order Chick-fil-A on your wedding day, they give you the FULL wedding day treatment (chicken style) including but not limited to WAFFLE SOCKS! And the best part?! Kaylee wore the waffle socks her whole wedding day! I’ve done a lot of weddings. This was a first and I love that!

Ok! So, back to our regularly scheduled program! Paige (of Paige Rowan Photography) and Becca met up with me. Aaron (Aaron Woods Productions) arrived too so we got right down to details! I don’t usually do them outside but the sun was hidden behind clouds and these rocks really matched the color palette and vibe of the wedding so here we go! Shoutout to Making Magic for leaving me scraps of flowers too to add to these detail photos!

This group has always been very go with the flow when it comes to me taking photos. I asked Ryan if he wanted any groom details and he said, “Hannah…you do what you want!” and handed me some things so, of course, I grabbed a few photos of his details too! I love that about this group! They just let me do my thing!

At this point, time was ticking. We had to get hair and make up done so we could move on with the day! I kept checking on them so we could get moving as soon as they were all ready!

So, while they were finishing up, we went over inside the venue and got those detail photos done! Shoutout to the venue staff. I met them and felt like I had made fast friends. They were so kind and friendly and allowed me to share space and get all these photos!

Alright! I ran back to the getting ready cabins and it was time to get everyone moving!

Everyone was getting dressed!

We did groom and groomsmen photos before the ceremony to get the timeline caught up! We opted to do the ladies’ photos after the ceremony which you’ll see here in a bit!

I don’t always share groomsmen “personality outtake photos” BUT…when they’re this good…we share!

One thing I found out about this venue is that they help do a lot of the decorating! Next thing I knew, POOF…like magic…this ceremony space was transformed!

…and that meant it was time for the ceremony!

After the ceremony we went through family formals as fast as humanly possible because we still had a lot of photos to take and moments to capture! I’ll skip sharing family formals here because I absolutely don’t want to leave anyone out and we took lots and lots! Be sure to reach out to the couple about your particular groups!

So, after family formals concluded (shoutout to everyone involved because it was hot and muggy), we finally got to get the whole bridal party together!

Let’s pause to shoutout Sam’s dog sitters! They were amazing too! I do believe Sam was also over the heat! Can’t blame him, I was SWEATING.

Then, we captured Kaylee as a bride and she was just as sweet and beautiful as I had imagined she would be!

The ladies were not to be outdone by the men! So, let me show you their personality outtake photos!

OOOooOo Sam! He’s the best boy and best doggie (and I’m a cat person so that’s saying something)!

And NOW…my favorite part of any wedding day…the bride and groom couple portraits!

I knew…just knew…when I did their engagement session (you can see it HERE), they would make a beautifully wonderful bride and groom! I also joked them…when our fingers were frozen back in January…that their July wedding would be quite the contrast in weather. I wasn’t wrong! I kept reminding them but I don’t think that helped any of us cool off!

We moved locations and that just married joy was radiating! Black and white photos look great too!

We were running out of time so I was doing my best to be super efficient and take photos as we made our way to the reception!

And just like that, it was time for the reception!

There were speeches and then the couple cut their cake. I later took their little Sam statue and pointed it at the cake (his little nose had cake on it).

They did parent dances and threw the bouquet and garter. This reception was a jam packed schedule! Then, DJ Brian Oliver got the party started like he always does and people flooded the dance floor!

I like to keep things real in the blog so here we go! Kaylee originally wanted to do a glow stick send off! ON IT! Not my first rodeo but I know it’s tricky. Glow sticks don’t put off a lot of light. We had it planned to do a mock one and a real one to make sure everything was captured. When I saw the glow sticks (these ones traditionally used inside), I was questioning whether I’d be able to make them show up. Then, Kaylee decided to do an early dress change so we talked and weighed all our options. I told Brian to light up the room with some color so I could get them running down the aisle so she’d have pictures in her beautiful gown. Gown and glow sticks were my priority! I’m glad I did because it occurred to me later…it doesn’t even get fully dark until 9:30-10:00! So, we did it! We made it happen and I’m so glad because that dress is too gorgeous not to be in these photos!

Not only was the dance floor packed inside, there were lots and lots of people mingling and enjoying themselves outside. So, I did what I always do and played paparazzi!

I did still want some nighttime photos…so I faked it until I made it and did some “night” photos outside! Trust me, it was still pretty daylight. The photos above and the photos below were taken about 10 minutes apart. It’s flash magic, I tell ya!

And that’s a wrap! Kaylee and Ryan are now Mr. & Mrs. Conrad! Guess what?! The little ice cubes in the cups lit up and blinked too!!! Remember what I said? NO DETAIL was missed!

This sweet couple was (kind of) a later addition to my 2026 wedding calendar and such a pleasant surprise! Sometimes when weddings are added, they’re last minute, not fully planned weddings…and that’s OK…but it can make things tough. Not this wedding! EVERYTHING was planned and all the details were there. We had SO much to photograph! I was so excited when they told me where the wedding would be held. I actually got to talk to Trisha (mother of the groom) first as she was the one with the wedding binder! I’ve noticed a huge trend in mom’s helping plan again (which is great because that’s how it was when I got married years and years ago). It’s fun getting to know all sides of the families and spending the day with them! Even with the heat, I think this couple would call their wedding day a success! So, please give them one last CONGRATS and share your love for this wedding on the socials!
