Oglebay Engagement Session in Wheeling, WV

Hello Hello, everyone! It’s been almost one whole month since I’ve blogged…and I have great news!! The Hannah Barlow Photography blog drought is OVER!  From here on out and until the end of December, you’re going to be getting so many blogs I doubt you’ll all be able to read all of them!  With that being said, I’m so happy to introduce to you – Courtney and Matt!! They’re the newest couple to be in front of my camera for photos and are now up on the blog!  We just shot their engagement session at Oglebay in Wheeling, WV yesterday!  I’m already SO ready to show you!! Time me!  Less than 24 hours!  WOOO! Enjoy!

…and before I go on…you need to meet their WHOLE family!  Get out of here!! How cute are these two?!  And they are father and daughter.  Everyone, meet Buster and Luna!

I actually just “met” Courtney 14 days ago!! This girl does NOT mess around with wedding planning (although she did tell me she hasn’t gotten her dress yet…AHHHHH!).  You see, Courtney booked me just 14 days ago…we scheduled their engagement session for last Sunday at this same place in Wheeling, WV BUT it rained…and stormed…Ughhhhh.  Seriously, this rain…it’s GOT to stop.  2018 was rough and I don’t want to do that all over again! But anyway, we rescheduled for yesterday and it worked out perfect because I had another session schedule at Oglebay! YAY!

 Courtney told me she didn’t love having her photo taken!  Challenge accepted!  It turned out they weren’t hard to photograph and Matt was all for it (straight down to requesting a West Virginia location).  Oglebay also just happens to be the same place they are having their wedding reception celebration with THE DJ Brian Oliver (who I have to thank for this happy couple finding and booking me as their wedding photographer).  I can tell just from spending a half hour with these two…it’s going to be a ROCKING party!  I know there’s going to be a lot to photograph at that reception and Matt kind of hinted around about it too!  Seriously though, how cute is she?!  I now call this the “Courtney laugh” and I’m going to request it over and over again at their wedding! I AM!  I also love that their fur babies happened to photo bomb this adorable photo below!
Then, I had them walk back toward me! Nailed it!

Matt also requested some “trees” in the photos in addition to the lake! I can tell he’s an outdoorsy kind of guy!  Well, I happen to be an outdoorsy kind of photographer!  These photos though…you could totally tell they were warming up!
And then for the grand finale, I let Courtney give me some sass and I cheered her on!  She told me this is “her” most of the time so who am I to stop it?!  I like when my couples let their personalities shine!

Before we’re done…can we talk about her ring for a second?! Gosh…it’s so pretty AND I was able to put some flowers in there too!! SPRING IS HERE…finally!  I am such a happy photographer, for real!! It’s warm again!

Ok…just one more…because it’s just so dang pretty!

Well, that’s a wrap!  You are going to see these two again this November when they tie the knot.  Courtney hasn’t picked a ceremony spot yet but the reception is definitely going to be in Wheeling at Oglebay’s Pine Room!  It’s going to be great!! She tells me she’s going to use a light blue color palette and I can’t even wait to see what she comes up with!  Thanks for reading, everyone!  Happy Thursday and have a WONDERFUL Easter!
