Wheeling Engagement Session

A Wheeling Engagement Session

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I can’t wait for you to meet Carmela and Primo and see their simple and sweet engagement session we did on Monday at Oglebay in Wheeling, West Virginia! Yes…Yes…Yes…if you are a loyal Hannah Barlow Photography reader, you are probably weirded out by this introduction as it isn’t my usual.  I was recently told by my Google guru that I need to be more “descriptive” in my blogs.  Oy.  You all know me…I have no problem with words BUT I don’t necessarily do blogs “right” and I know that.  Apparently, I really need to make the Google Gods happier…so prepare yourselves for some wordy (and non-Hannah…*cough* boring) intros! 🙂

Ok.  Now, that I’ve gotten that out of the way and hopefully made Google happy, let’s move on!  Everyone…give these two a BIG, warm, Hannah Barlow Photography welcome!  Carmela (Carmie) and Primo are here!  They’re the most recent couple to be on my blog! YAY!

First things first, I LOVE their names!  I know that’s totally random but after all these weddings I’ve done…it’s so fun to stumble upon couples like this who are unique in every way possible – even their names!  These two are getting married in just a few short months in June and I’m the lucky gal who will be photographing their big, wedding day.  They’ve picked TWO (not one..but TWO) venues I’ve never photographed before! AHHHHHH!! She also told me her color scheme was coral and black! AHHHHHHHH again!  I could squeal with wedding delight!  That’s a color family I have NOT yet photographed so this wedding is going to be all kinds of greatness for us because the possibilities for photos are ENDLESS!  They definitely won’t be like any others you’ve seen here before!  See?!  Unique in so many ways!  They’re also so sweet and not fussy one tiny bit (she even told me she didn’t like to make decisions) so my photographer heart and brain can really work overtime for this one!

I can’t even wait to see these two dressed up as man and wife!  They’re holding their wedding ceremony at a church in Steubenville, Ohio that I’ve always eye balled but have never been blessed to photograph.  Seriously, I used to drive by it daily and I used to tell my daughter how much I’d love to take pictures in front of it.  AND my dreams are coming true in June.  The ideas I’ve got already are making my photographer heart burst with joy!  For real!  Just look at them!  Primo was particularly snuggly for this engagement session too and I told him to channel all those feelings for their big day!

Of course, we did the typical Hannah Barlow Photography walking and snuggling! The light loves these two and the muted color palette of this whole session made me so happy!  I also didn’t notice at the time but am JUST NOW seeing it…she’s quite a bit shorter than him if she didn’t have those heels on! OooO goodness! The possibilities for their wedding photos just keep on coming!  I’m already taking notes!  Are you?!  Got some ideas too?!…I’m ALL about creativeness with what these two are giving me for their wedding!  Give them a shout out!

This photo below may be my very favorite.  I don’t know what it is about it and I usually don’t even like direct light with shadows in the back…BUT I LOVE THIS ONE!  EEKK! I think it’s the genuine “feel” of it all and I can 100% guarantee we’ll be doing this again come June!

…and can we talk about her ring, please?!  This diamond is GIANT! AND it’s gorgeous!! I told her to make sure she gave me a wedding invitation so I could stand this baby up and make it shine for their wedding detail photos!  I’ll admit…I did go back and look at it on her hand…it’s a beauty!

…I know…I know…I could just keep on rambling and I know this photo below is a lot like the one above BUT it’s not…I just love the close ups of these two SO MUCH!  So, I made it black and white for a grand finale! ENJOY!

That’s a wrap on this engagement session!  We blew right through it and I told them to channel all those good feelings and cuddly feelings and lovey feelings because their wedding day is going to be FANTASTIC!  Check back mid June for their sneak peek and then their wedding blog!! I’m going to have A LOT to say!! I know it!

Happy Wednesday!  Thanks for reading!
