Classic Purple Steubenville Wedding

Hello, 2020!  It may be a new year but the last wedding of the year for 2019 is on the blog RIGHT NOW!  This classic, purple, Steubenville wedding was the perfect way to end the year.  Somehow that always happens to us.  Maybe it’s just the personalities of the couples?  Maybe just the feeling of the season?  Not sure!  Year after year, we continue to go out with a wonderfully, stress free day!  This one was no different.  So, please give all your Hannah Barlow Photography congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Andes!  They’re the last couple to get married in 2019 and the first one on the 2020 blog!

First up, we stopped to see some of my favorite ladies (Bri and Jamie) to catch the gals doing makeup.  We didn’t stay too long because we had to head out to The Countryside in Bloomingdale, Ohio to photograph some reception details!  If you need fabulous makeup, you NEED the Legal Hair and Day Spa ladies!

…and the reception details were amazing!! AHHH!!! So, Jared’s last name is “Andes” so OF COURSE there were Andes candies!! You know me…I do love those little details.

THEN, I got to photograph what Rachael’s kindergartner’s thought love was all about.  Isn’t that THE BEST idea EVER?!  I particularly love the one about feeling tingly!!  As a romance novel lover…and lover of everything love and weddings…this one really got me!

Then, we headed to the church in Steubenville, Ohio to meet up with the girls and guys AND one of our favorite videographers, Jay Morris of Jay Morris Video Productions!  We pulled into the parking lot JUST as he did!! Great minds!  Great vendor friends!  Once we got there, we went STRAIGHT into detail shots!  It’s like my favorite part of the day!! Sam was with me, as well, and this is a good mix of her photos and my photos!  Purple was VERY popular this year!

It’s a teeny room in that church where the gals hang out but we made it work!  We had some fun RIGHT before they got ready!

…and can we just talk about the details of this church!!! 2019 was definitely a church wedding kind of year.  I think we only had 3 (guessing here) outdoor ceremonies this year?  It’s probably a good thing considering how much it rained!  We’re going to be outside A LOT more in 2020…all hail dry days!

I found the guys in the parking lot, introduced myself to the ones I didn’t know and convinced them to come on in and get ready!

…and they did!! AHHHH!! I love super cooperative and comfortable bridal parties!

Here are some getting ready groom shots in black and white!

Meanwhile, Sam stayed with the girls and captured them getting ready.  I jumped in there at some point too!

A good necklace photo always ends up being one of my favorites!!!  Rachael said she was so nervous but you can’t tell one bit in these photos!

And just like that, it was time for the ceremony!  I love this pastor (whose name I can NOT think of at the moment…Oy.)  Why am I the WORST with names?!  Anyway, he does a pretty great wedding ceremony!! They are short and sweet but still have so much meaning.  Deep breath, Jared!

He even asks the family to stand up and take part and I kind of love that so much!

Mr. & Mrs. Andes, everyone!

They celebrated with a bubble send off!!  This traditional was also VERY popular this year!  This day was warmer than all of our November weddings too.  So crazy, right?!

We headed back in for family formals and then it was off for some formal photo shots! YAY!  Check out these beautiful ladies!!

Rachael and her cousin wanted to do this and I found out there was a story behind this one!

Exhibit A…from when they were tiny!  HA!! I love it!! They need to frame them next to each other!

Do you all remember the fur shawl that was worn all day at a wedding in November?  It must be a thing for men now! HA!  Sam snagged this beauty!

I was just finishing up the ladies at the same time!

Then, we moved on to the guys!! Jared is a hilarious jokester!! He had me cracking up ALL day long!

AHHHHH!!! Isn’t she beautiful?!  This is a pretty even set of my shots and Sam’s shots!  Her dress was custom!! They added those sleeves and back.  Can you believe it?!

This time of the day was a breath of fresh air.  We’re usually pretty stressed for time at this point but not this day!! It was amazingly laid back and relaxed!

It helps when you have a bride and groom who are totally ok with picture time and take photos like this!! Feast your eyes on some bride and groom formal photos!

They even make black and white look amazing!! EEK!

This was Sam’s shot and ended up being one of my very favorites (below)!

I could just keep going and going!

Huge shoutout to Jay Morris!  We were tag teaming all these shots with his video!! I do love that ooey light wintertime gives us!

Grand finale shots!! AHHHH!!!! Now, off to the reception!

Just look at this cake!! AHHHH!!!! I MAY have even touched those flowers to see if they were real!! I’m sure I got busted by someone!! But you know me…I love love love a grand cake like this one AND it sparkled!! IT SPARKLED!  The cupcakes even sparkled!!

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Andes one more time!!! Then, the sweetest speeches were said right before dinner.  AND speaking of dinner, it was some of the BEST wedding food we had ALL year!  We had all kinds of end of year wins at this wedding!

It hurt my heart to see that beautiful cake cut BUT look how happy they are in these photos!

There was photo booth fun from Oh Snap Photography too!!! Photo below is compliments of Sam whose stalking ability at this wedding was on point!  You know…I mentioned it in the end of year blog!  We often feel like security scanning the room to find something that’s happening!

Rachael and Jared did a choreographed first dance!

The father daughter dance was amazing too!

Jared and his mom opted to slow things down with a traditional mother son dance!  Look at that joy!  This moment always reminds me this will be me and my son one day!

We had big groups that were totally entertaining for the traditional bouquet and garter festivities!

Time to get this party STARTTTTEEEEEEDDDDDD!  Look at the faces and how much fun everyone was having!

Moms and aunts were doing shots at the reserved table (I really loved I got to capture that).  Jared was REALLY enjoying his cake…and the party just kept going!! Some of the people on the dance floor were making me totally jealous I can’t dance too!

And that’s where we left them…partying the night away!  If you remember their engagement session (HERE), our initial encounter was one for the memory books.  I’ll never forget that first call when she wanted to book me!! If you remember, I vowed I wasn’t booking any weddings around the holidays so I could enjoy my anniversary trip and family.  This one was the perfect one for me to cave and photograph.  It was right after the holidays and with the sweetest couple.  These two were star clients from beginning and I can’t thank them enough for asking me to be their wedding photographer!  I also got to meet up with a past Hannah Barlow Photography couple (Hey, Jen and Ehtan!) and Jen’s parents.  I love when that happens!  I also got to see a past history teacher of mine and I’m kind of cringing right now because I assume she’ll read this and she’ll see that I STILL am no good at grammar, punctuation, and writing, in general.  Ugh.  I’M STILL GREAT AT MATH AND SCIENCE…AND PHOTOGRAPHY!  I promise!  I never lost those skills but never gained any in the English department!  So, there’s that! HA!  Now that I’ve rambled, it’s time to tie this baby up!

THE LAST HANNAH BARLOW PHOTOGRAPHY WEDDING OF 2019 IS DONE!  BOOM!  24 WEDDINGS OFFICIALLY COMPLETE!

Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Andes!
