Happy Friday!! JUST LIKE THAT…2019 weddings are over and 2020 weddings are here! Sam and I were dying laughing in the car at our last 2019 wedding. We were celebrating and high fiving and cheering each other on…knowing we had another wedding coming in just two weeks AND it’s TOMORROW!!! WoooOOOOO!!! Guess what else is here?! The first engagement session and just one day before their wedding!! That’s a fun twist, right?! So, meet Sarah and Tristan! They are the first couple up for 2020 both for the engagement session AND wedding. They are two of my out of towners too so we had to make it work while they were here in Wheeling! Everyone, please give these two all your Hannah Barlow Photography love! They’re getting married TOMORROW!
Do you notice their sweaters?! They came from Ireland!! This wedding is going to be a unique, Hannah Barlow Photography first and I couldn’t be more excited!! WooooOoo HoooOOo! I’d met these two last year when we met up at the studio and they booked me! From the get go, they were easy to be around and conversation was so easy!! This session was no different and it got me even MORE excited for their wedding! Anyway, like I said, those sweaters are from Ireland! They even joked they smelled funny because they came from an Irish farm!! This was also the first photo we took of the day and I was all kinds of pumped up because Sarah has SUCH a fun and spunky personality!
This (below) was also the last photo of the day and I was just full to giddiness! Their wedding is going to be SO great! AHHHH!!!
Can you tell I’m having a hard time staying on task for this blog?! HA! So, during the session, we did some family photos!! Everyone, meet Hayden!! He’s Tristan’s son and this family dynamic couldn’t be more perfect! They were telling me lots of stories from when he was younger and now I feel like I know so much about these three already!! AHHH!
We did some walking and snuggling, of course! Now, I’m going to tell you a little back story of how this wedding came to life! Sarah and Tristan traveled to Ireland last year! (Kari’s going to be SO bummed she’s missing this one because she lived in Scotland for a year for school and loves this kind of stuff). Anyway…Tristan’s last name is “McKenna” which is both Irish and Scottish. When it’s Scottish, it falls under the McKenzie clan. Where are my Outlander fans at?! AHHHHH!! SOoooOo for their wedding, they’re doing the weathered pattern McKenzie tartan for Tristan’s side of the family and black watch tartan for Sarah’s side of the family for the Cambell clan! They even got a lot of their wedding things from an Irish store which sold both Irish and Scottish apparel and pins!!! OMG!! My excitement is off the charts!!
They very much wanted to make this wedding (and this session) feel “Irish” with stone and ferns and evergreens. It was REALLY sunny so we took a few in this spot (even trying to enlist Hayden to block some spotty light). We made it work the best we could and we might circle back around to this location tomorrow! The forecast FINALLY cleared for rain AND it’s supposed to be warm….all hail the wedding Gods!! May they be with us tomorrow!
More family photos!
Sarah hates the cheesy photos but I made her do JUST a few! She even said she’s going to put that sweater over her dress for some photos tomorrow! AHHHH!!! I just can’t even!! I’M SO EXCITED!
This was one of the very last ones we took and I think it’s one of my favorites!
Yep!! That’s it! Tomorrow is THE DAY! We’re back at Oglebay with Cassie AND Brian Oliver AND Brad from Masterpieces! Sarah is probably one of my most laid back brides and I have a feeling it’s going to start 2020 off RIGHT. She said she doesn’t even know what her flowers will look like and she’s going to be surprised!! So crazy, right?! It’s going to be AMAZING!! I have a black watch tartan scarf coming from Amazon today too!! I wonder if Brian (DJ) will match. He ALWAYS matches! I can’t even wait to see what he wears! HA! First 2020 wedding of the year, let’s do this!
