“Fall always looks better in November”! If I’ve scheduled a fall session with you, you’ve probably heard me say this and you probably didn’t believe me either BUT…Kassie was no different. She wanted fall…allll the fall! I convinced her November would be a better option than October and I found this absolutely perfect little spot in a random place in Wheeling, West Virginia to do her engagement photos. SO, give Kassie and Cullen ALL your Hannah Barlow Photography love so you can see the beauty that was this engagement session last Tuesday! They’ve been on the blog briefly before BUT this is their first time to shine front and center! ENJOY!
Like every session these days, the famous “you’re just going to have to trust me” came out in full swing. The thing about November, fall sessions is that the leaves aren’t usually on the trees…and I’m prepared for that but it scares the ever loving crap out of my fall loving couples (who I’ve promised would have very fall photos). You can almost always find a few trees though AND since the leaves are on the group…it makes it SO pretty. So, I arrived early and did a drive around. Ironically, they arrived early too and I told them to just trust that this little random spot in a random parking lot was going to make fabulous photos! I mean, GPS didn’t even know about this location it’s so random. I sent her a pin and GPS couldn’t even get her near me! We had a good laugh though. BUT LOOK!
I had asked Kassie if she preferred red, orange or yellow foliage. She chose red or orange (CHECK). I asked her how she felt about fences. She said she liked them (DOUBLE CHECK). I mean…I MEAN! I can not with these two. I knew Cullen didn’t necessarily love photos and that’s fine but boy oOOooO boy did he pull out ALL the model shots. Good grief! I can’t get over these photos!
At this point, I don’t even think I need to explain what I sounded like when I took this photo (below). ALLLL the Hannah excitement! ALL.OF.IT!
I don’t think we could have gotten any more “fall” than this! This very well may be a new favorite spot for me! I can’t wait to see what it looks like in the spring and summer. I’ll report back, I promise!
Of course, I had them walk and snuggle. I heard Kassie whispering and planning the snuggle aspect of this and I yelled at her. “Snuggling” on the fly always results in less thinking and more candid shots. Cullen…OOO man…he whipped her right into that dip without any prompts. Mic Drop. I’m done! My wedding photographer heart could just explode!
Juuussssttt to be sure it wasn’t luck, I had them do it again. Nope. Not luck. Cullen brought his A game and I don’t think he really can appreciate how much it means to me!
Cullen restored his truck himself and wanted to include that in a few photos. So, while they did an outfit change to get more casual, I photographed this beauty. This is the cleanest and shiniest ring I’ve EVER photographed…because it’s only 24 hours old. That’s right! Kassie had a damaged ring disaster and had to have a whole new ring made and it JUST arrived less than 24 hours before her session!
Alright! HERE WE GO! This day was so dreary…it actually misted on us a little bit in the beginning but then that sun popped out and I ran them to alllllll the dead stuff (you know…my favorite) and we got some ooey, gooey glowy photos!
Brace yourself, while I thought the orange, fall, foliage photos were my favorites (because you know…I like a nice, dressy and classy outfit pairing…THESE (below) may actually be my favorites!
….or maybe these ones! I really loved the “bear hug” ones!
…or maybe these ones! I can NOT decide! I mean, the spin was 10/10 perfectly executed just like the dip!
We got some good candid laughs too!
So, we ended the session with some cozy, truck photos! Cullen restored this baby all by himself and let me tell you, it’s in amazing shape (to the point I was afraid to even ask if it’d be ok for her to sit up there).
Well, I’m SO ready for my wedding this weekend now! It’s going to be amazing…the fall looks amazing…the weather continues to be great! It’s been such a great year! This was one of my last engagement sessions of the year and I can’t believe 2022 is almost over. I knew it was going to be great…and it was GREAT! My English teachers would positively give me an “F” for the amount of times I’ve used that word but let it keep on coming! These two are also having a fall wedding but not until 2024! We’re going back to the beautiful Bella Amore in Dennison, Ohio…and I already can’t contain my excitement! Thanks for reading everyone….
OOoO and if these two look familiar…that’s because I’ve photographed them before! Exhibit A below! I LOVE being able to do this in the blogs! OOo yea…and that’s Kassie’s mom (See you in 2024!!!)
