Lauren + Adam’s Summer Nature Engagement Session

Hello, everyone! Summer sessions are in full swing! Summer weather is here with a little pop up thunderstorm scheduled here and little humid day over there…and then it all changes! You know how it goes…at least I do! My photographer life has forced me to learn and watch weather patterns. These two got to experience all that and we actually made a last minute change in the schedule to get these done ahead of this past weekend’s hot and humid and muggy weather! This couple is new here on the blog! So, please give Lauren and Adam all your Hannah Barlow Photography love and ENJOY their summer engagement session!

Lauren and Adam are outdoorsy folks like myself! We had a great, virtual pre-booking meeting before they asked me to be their wedding photographer! Like most of the couples who find and hire me, they’re just very easy to get along with, chat with…all the things! I was very excited when they opted for a super laid back, outdoorsy engagement session! I was even extra excited when they popped out of their car and had great outfit choices!

I knew the park would be busy with summer being out but it was more packed than I expected for an earlier Thursday morning. I did expect this to an extent so I left my house super early so I could drive around the park and find all the good spots that weren’t people-y. The last thing I want to do when meeting a couple in person for the first time is put them on display in front of a crowd while we’re figuring out and getting them comfortable in front of my camera. Lucky for me, I did find spots that had no traffic or visitors but I also don’t think these two would have cared now that I’ve met and photographed them.

As I tell all my couples, “this is going to be our first trust exercise…don’t judge the locations until you see the final product”. Well, Lauren actually knew this area…well! She’s hiked here before so there was no randomness or feel to this first location I picked!

They got comfortable real quick so we started flying through poses and options!

Then, we made our way to the lake and found some shade and a more private area away from the kayakers and fishermen. We had to perform a quick baby goose rescue prior and they didn’t think I was crazy at all!!! That’s a win for a high energy human like me!

I think these are some of my very favorites down by the lake AND I like to finish the blog off with a nice, cozy photo!

And that’s a wrap! These two will be getting married in a little less than a year -beginning of May 2027! They’re planning a traditional church wedding and then we’re going to celebrate with DJ Brian Oliver at the Red Fox Winery!!!! Happy Wednesday, everyone! Thanks for reading!
