Liz & Chris’ Forest Dream Engagement

Hi, everyone! I’ve got a NEW COUPLE for you all to meet! Say “Hello” to Liz and Chris! They’re the newest couple on my blog! EXCEPT…I actually met them at Chris’ sister’s wedding (Hey, Rachel and Troy!) back in 2024 and snapped a few photos of them together! So, they’ve been on my camera before and kind of on the blog BUT never like this! This session was a dream…couple, weather…LIGHT…all the things fell into place in the most dreamy and perfect way! I’m going to show you and tell you all about it! So, please give these two all your Hannah Barlow Photography love! Their engagement session is live on the blog right now!

It’s funny how things happen! I met these two a few years ago and they recently asked me to photograph their wedding…which will be in a few years from now! It seems the world wants us to meet up every couple of years. I’m on board! I’m already talking about their wedding because it’s going to be a unique experience at a CASTLE in Ohio! Yep….castle and Ohio truly go together here! So, going with the castle vibe…I’d originally picked out a different location and was waiting for them there. I’d asked Liz to send me some inspo…and she did in that moment while on their way. Which prompted me to pump the brakes and recalculate (literally on the GPS) where we were going to do these!

She had a very forest, fairytale vibe to her inspo and I knew JUST the place!

I could NOT have asked for better light and weather. Combine that with Chris and Liz’s outfit choices and props. I was an excited, squealing like the “professional” that I claim to be…couldn’t help myself because it was SO good…photographer! I’m still not over it! It was a DREAM session!

They’re a beautiful, sweet and kind couple! I did what I do best and just chatted away! I found out Liz is actually from Italy and I was floored because she has a very America accent for Italian being her first language! To any of her family and friends from back home reading this, I do apologize for my improper English, multiple typos…and generally chaotic story telling. I type like I speak…and I promise I’m a true professional and I promise it’ll all make sense once we meet in 2028! Many of my past couples have said they positively laugh when reading my blogs because they can hear me saying it! Some even read it in their “Hannah voice”!

So, how did these two meet if Liz is from Italy?! Well, Chris was in the Air Force…stationed in London! That’s how! And my GOODNESS…doesn’t the joy just seep right out of these photos! They’re so incredibly easy to photograph! Liz is a natural and Chris absolutely leads while following her lead…and my lead…and just goes with the flow all it once! It’s impressive really! I love that for all of us too because it makes for an amazingly LARGE and stunning gallery!

I can’t even begin to process how I will choose what to narrow down and post!

Then, we went up to the field where I KNEW it would light right up! I kept coaching myself out loud to preserve the shadows and blacks (which goes against my usual photographer nature) but also make it look “Hannah Barlow” while also respecting the inspo! It turned out to be yet another dreamy photo moment!

I photographed them while they walked back down! Chris requested some sitting photos!

We finished this session off with some sweet, simple photos and then captured her beautiful ring!

I hope this session was everything they wanted it to be and MORE because I’m still sitting here all starry eyed looking at them! I can’t even believe I took them! It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about engagement photos and it’s because they’re so unique and dreamy while still being “Hannah Barlow” photos…if that makes sense!
