Hello! Happy Friday! It has been a PHENOMENAL fall season and this wedding added to it! I met Olivia (Liv) and Luke last year at their engagement session (HERE) AND Liv’s mom and Dad (Heyyyyyy, Randy and Missy!). They’re very comfortable people to be around at that engagement session last year and that was NO different (maybe even better if that’s possible) this past Saturday on their wedding day! So, before I get going too fast…please give the new Mr. & Mrs. LeMasters ALL your Hannah Barlow Photography love! Their wedding is live on the blog right now! ENJOY!
I arrived to the Market at Ebbert’s Farm just a few minutes early to be greeted by Liv. I had to “yell” at her when she offered to help carry some of my stuff from my car. I said, “No one works today except me!” and THEN, not one moment after I got through the door, I was greeted by Liv’s mom, Missy, who wrapped me up in all that mom love and said, “I’m so glad you’re here…I knew I had to have you…” I MEANNNN…what a way to welcome me AND put the pressure on, right?! Kidding…it’s the warmest and most sweet and genuine welcomes I think I’ve received all year…and I’m not afraid to put that in the blog. So yea…this wedding was a breeezeeeeeee…perfect weather, people and all the things.
So, what do we always do first?! DETAILS! Liv had everything ready. I left the ladies who were doing hair and makeup and off to do details I went with Jay Morris of Jay Morris Video Productions!
Boy OooOoO boy…many of you loyal blog readers have seen weddings I’ve done at Ebbert’s. This one? WOoooOWwwwwww…do all the sounds…”OOoOOoooo and Ahhhhhhh” all over it! There was no detail missing! Everywhere I looked there was more…and more to photograph but without it being “too much” if that makes sense! AND this is a just a snapshot (no pun intended) of all the things we actually photographed!
What you can’t see here but can see if you see the live gallery or full folder is that we were running back and forth to get hair and makeup photos and details all at the same time. When they are in chronological order…it’s very obvious. What you didn’t know and also can’t see…is that we started to run behind. That’s where these blogs come in…I’ll tell you here…OooOo memories. And we ALLLL knew it too. Heck, at one point, I yelled to Liv’s dad and brother (who were waiting on me)…”It’s not ME..I promise!” Why? Well, because I’ve had many a men get angry with me thinking I was holding up the show…I should have known Randy and Peyton weren’t those kind of men…but still! I worry…but I always promise I’ll catch up the timeline and after all these years…I haven’t failed yet! You would have NEVER known it though…every single person kept their calm and cool. I know we were all thinking it because we had a lot of to do before the ceremony. But if there’s one thing I’m great at? It’s moving FAST! Jay even said to me later “I’m glad it’s you…you didn’t stress”…OOOoOooo I was stressing’! I was just hiding it! Activate the crazy Hannah energy because we’ve got this! And combined with everyone else’s calm and cool (THANK YOU…for that…) everything was A OK!
So, hair and makeup!
Liv’s mom and grandma helped her get ready in her dress and then the bridesmaids got to have their first look! It was absolutely all hands on deck and it was a team effort!
I’m not sure if the Wedding Gods set this up or if Randy and Peyton are just that intuitive but they were RIGHT outside the door from where we were doing bridesmaid first look and ready to go for their first look with their daughter/sister! It all worked out so perfectly and flawlessly! I can’t even explain it except to say we were moving at a fast pace to get to the ceremony, checking off all the things on the list, turned to our left…out the door and BOOM…dad/brother first look! 10/10 on execution, everyone! I literally could NOT have planned it better if I had tried!
Off to the ceremony we go! I got to meet up with Luke for the first time this day and again…things just allllll worked out on their own. Luke’s mom was right around the corner and we got to do a sweet first look with his mom! These people are rockstars, I tell ya. And while my brain was going 1000 miles a minute to get ready for the ceremony and make sure we had everything checked off for the pre-ceremony things…they were all so calm and soaking in all the moments. This was so perfect and not planned…I love it so much! Shoutout to Jana (Magical Mayhem Events) for being a huge part of all this and getting people for me!
It was a beautiful ceremony. I was so excited about it all…straight down to the church – literally even the paint color that matched the wedding vibe so well. I said to Missy, “OooO my goodness this church is BEAUTIFUL!” and she joked and said, “We did it just for you, Hannah!” I even got a hug from the sweet Priest after the ceremony!!! I’m telling you…the whole day was it’s own VIBE!
Bubble send offs are BACK in 2024! I feel like I’m being dramatic…but even the bubbles showed up. What do I mean by that? Well, at most (almost all) bubble send offs, I have to use a fake bubble overlay to make the bubbles be seen. It’s true! They usually don’t show up! Not this wedding…no photoshop overlays necessary! They’re REAL!
Alright! We’re doing it and we’re actually ahead of schedule after family formals! So then, we raced for Wheeling park to do some photos! There was another wedding…there was homecoming and I just needed SOME FALL FOLIAGE…anyone?! Where did all my fall go?!
I chose this random little location because I loved the backdrop and soft light. The men kept it simple with the personality shots and I appreciated it so much!
Talk about fall…bridal party is STUNNING! Liv put a lot of attention to detail into choosing the colors straight down to hair color vs. dress color!
Liv also made a beautiful bride!!! She really hit the mark with a fall color boho look!
Bridesmaids got super creative with their personality shots. The ladies usually don’t…they made sure they made sense (to us) and were personal! The dress fixing one cracked me up because Liv had to have her dress fixed and taped all day long!
…and now…bride and groom formals! Cue the music!
I needed fall…anywhere! Prior to the bridal party arriving, I did some scouting and I found this little spot! We utilized it in all the ways! Shoutout to Ashleigh for all those second angles!! This was her last wedding for this season too!
Walking and snuggling…a MUST at all Hannah Barlow Photography weddings and sessions!
I did fence photos at their engagement session. Luke does a GREAT “lean” on those fences so lucky for us…there were fences here too! The leaves along the fence line really enhanced the fall feel too!
Walking…and snuggling…and walking! Then, Ash threw the veil for us!
…and just like that…this day FLEW but for GREAT reasons…no stress, all joy…laughs..and all the wedding things! Most days, we’re breathing a sigh of relief arriving to reception because the “hard parts” are over for us and we get to coast. At this wedding, the whole day felt good! So, introductions were made, the couple did their first dance and then Missy and Randy did a welcome speech. That was followed by two short and sweet while NOT lacking any love and sincerity speeches by the matron of honor and best man! Again, other weddings could take notes…five 20 minute speeches are A LOT but I digress (for real…it happens).
Golden hour has been phenomenal this year too and every single one is unique and great in its own way! This jacket, however, has been a huge trend for 2024 weddings! I wonder if it’ll carry to 2025?!
THEN, the party got started. It was a packed dance floor and every time we looked there were different shenanigans happening!
Last but not least, they opted for a “mock” sparkler exit that wasn’t so mock after all! I’ll explain. I’ve done sparkler exits since the beginning of doing wedding photography (so almost ten years now). I didn’t heed the advice of other photographers back then and used to do it at the end of the night. BIG mistake…giving over one hundred people who have consumed a significant amount of alcohol hot metal sticks to swing at the couple (and me)…not so wise. Nope…no way. It’s also very difficult to corral and explain what needs to happen before the sparklers run out…to hundreds of people who have consumed alcohol. SO, the new and safer option is to do a “mock” exit…that’s an earlier exit and only takig out select individuals and do it that way – more controlled…safer. WELLLLLLL, as we attempted to sneak out…everyone came out. Literally everyone. I was all “it’s going to be fineeeeeeeee” and while it was a bit chaotic…it actually was FINE! Again…these people know how to do weddings! Every time I thought “uh oh” on this wedding day…the Wedding Gods said, “No, Hannah…it’s A OK!”
And that’s it! Another 2024 wedding in the books! This was one was easy peasy! I wish all people could embrace the “it is what it is after all this planning” mentality and just soak up and enjoy the whole day like the Carpenters, LeMasters and all their family and friends! This group could write a book on enjoying a wedding day and I’m here for it! HUGE shoutout to all the parents of this group for making us feel like a part of the family. Shoutout to Liv and Luke for being an incredibly easy couple to work with (almost to the point I was stressing thinking their lack of requests and quietness was something I DID…HA!). It was just a GOOD, wholesome wedding…I won’t apologize for the amount of adjectives I’ve used and all the gushing I’ve done…it was SOMETHING. I wish you all could have been a part of it!
CONGRATS TO THE NEW LEMASTERS!
