Summer Oglebay Wedding with a Spectacular Pine Room Reception

Hello!  Happy Friday!  Kim & TJ are enjoying their honeymoon right now and I’m going to add their gorgeous wedding photos to the mix to tie off the end of the week!  They had a packed vendor dream team I was SO excited to see and work with and I couldn’t wait to see and all those pretty, elegant wedding details come together!  So, please enjoy their summer, Oglebay wedding with an absolutely STUNNING Pine Room Reception.  I’ll highlight that here in a bit.  For now, give them ALL your Hannah Barlow Photography love!  ENJOY!

I was so excited for this wedding!!  After their engagement session (which you can see HERE), Kim kept me updated with all the details of their wedding day.  What she kept teasing me with was “elegance” and “greenery everywhere” and having Masterpieces of Old Town positively blog up Oglebay’s Pine Room with wedding reception greatness (AND cream cheese icing on the cake…which you all know is my favorite).  I could NOT wait to see it!  Aaron and Ashleigh (of Off Center Production) rolled into the cabins very shortly after me to tag team all the getting ready details.  I was welcomed with open arms by Kim’s mom (Hi, Pat!) and TJ’s mom (Hi, Holly!) and all the bridesmaids!  Off we went to get this day going and documented!

Beautiful, classy details!  I missed the pink!! Years ago blush pink was popular…and it was nice to see it come back!

Huge shoutout to Aaron for seeing the cups and telling the girls to grab them.  That’s one of the big reasons I like working with his company…he’s always noticing things!

After hair and makeup, I had my nervous T Rex hands up (that’s when I look at my watch and realize we’ve fallen behind so I hold them up…weirdly…I’ve always done this).  I told Kim, “If there’s anything I’m really good at, it’s catching up a timeline!  Have no fear and don’t worry!”  We had to get her ready and we called Dad to head our way for a quick first look!

Not just a first look either…but she also had some gifts to give!

Aaron and Ashleigh had already went over to meet up with TJ!  I was shortly behind them and we caught some very last minute getting ready shots!

They stuffed TJ in their car.  I put Kim in my car!  She was so funny and sweet.  She watches me on IG and sees that I frequently put couples in my car and she said, “I’ve waited for this! To be in your car!”  I laughed…and it touched my heart that couples keep letting me put them in my car and we get to chat the whole way to the first look and it’s just something so special since I’m a hired vendor and this is one of the biggest days of their lives!

The couple also requested the parents be involved in the first look and I thought that was the very sweetest touch.

BONUS!  This little location wasn’t just for first looks…it doubled as a good, candid, formal photo location!

Kim wanted all the mansion shots…and all the veil flying shots! ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE!  Sam was rounding up the bridal party and getting them set up behind the mansion but some of these are hers too!  Talk about multitasking!

I knew she’d be an absolute stunner as a bride!

I mentioned briefly to Sam that I wanted to catch more behind the scenes and candid photos of this wedding.  So, remember how I said she was multitasking?  Well, she was capturing all these while they were waiting for us to finish in front of the mansion!

Bridal party goodness!! This color palette was so easy on the eyes and so pretty to photograph!

MORE bride and groom formals!  Picking favorites has been hard for me this year!

…and because I knew the mansion was important and we had to go that way anyway, we took some more!! AND that sun popped right out and wrapped them right up!  This weather was amazing especially considering the forecast called for rain all week.  Even with the heat we had…I’ll take it!

The formal gardens always make for the BEST groom reactions!

It’s just SO pretty too!

…and after they became man and wife, we got some trolley photos!  They actually rode back with me so they didn’t have to wait for a pickup…but we still wanted to capture this moment!

Alright!  BUCKLE UP!  Brad and Rodney (Masterpieces of Old Town), Jonathan Mihellis (Finest Events), and Ashley Dunlap (Plans for Perfection) absolutely….ABSOLUTELY…outdid themselves!  Sam and I didn’t just circle once to get photos…but two and three times!

I never get to do this so it was super sweet that the couple came in to do a “reception first look” and I got to capture them enjoying it all!

Introductions were made and the couple got to come in and do their first dance.  I wanted to highlight their new shared last name because the backdrop was amazing!

Jonathan never disappoints on the party!  Packed dance floor per the usual!

…and you have ALWAYS have a photo to tie up the blog and gallery, right?!  So, it was absolute pure perfection when Kim asked me for this one!

I could photograph that reception over and over and over again.  Kim’s vision combined with the professionals who put it together is definitely a highlight and favorite for the year!  Kim and TJ are Mr. & Mrs. Deusenbery now!  I chose Sam to photograph this wedding with me because she’s all about the greenery and I knew she’d be the perfect fit!  I can’t wait to text the couple and tell them it’s all ready!  They’ve got a jam packed gallery coming at them!  Kim and TJ…thank you for choosing me and trusting me to document this day!  It was ABSOLUTELY beautiful!  One more time…CONGRATS TO THE COUPLE!
