Hi, everyone! I have another one for you – NEW COUPLE ALERT! That’s right! AND that means another engagement blog! THIS ONE…while so “simple”…really spoke to me. I wanted to text Kailey so many times but also didn’t want to be a weirdo so they’re going to read it here…on the World Wide Web publicly! HA! Why am I the way that I am?! Who knows! BUT…no (and never) any Chat GPT here! Nope! I’m throwing all my love at these two…they were SUCH a joy to photograph! So, please give them all your Hannah Barlow Photography love and ENJOY!
These two have a great story…BUT FIRST…you HAVE to meet Lucky, their fur baby! HUGE shoutout to Kailey’s mom, Tracey, for coming and being dog sitter when Lucky was done (he was never really done though…you’ll see later). They say like souls attract one another…and while Kailey and Nick are that way…Lucky and I are also that way! He LOVES the camera. He loves the attention and lovins’ and he’s got lots of energy…just like ME! So, everyone meet Lucky! He’s adorable…and spoiled in the BEST way and he LOVES his parents (especially his momma, Kailey)!
Seriously, isn’t he the CUTEST?!
These two are planning a wedding featuring dusty blues and sage…so I tried to channel that here in this little spot and I LOVE it! They met in African Ensemble at the University of North Texas in January of 2022! They ended up being the ONLY two people in the class (LOVE this…it’s like a meet cute in a movie)! They tell me they were totally crushing on one another right away and soon started driving to their gigs together! Later, they got engaged on their three year anniversary in Seattle, Washington!
In ten years, I’m not sure anyone has executed a pose like this…so, we’ll call this the Kailey and Nick pose! LOVE IT!
Prior to realizing (in all our excitement and my chitter chatter) that we left all of Kailey’s belongings behind on a bench, we went over to one of my favorite little, “secret” spots and caught these! I LOVE this little location! It’s always so dreamy and magical (which is how I envision their wedding after meeting them).
They did tell me in their couple fun fact survey that they balance each other perfectly and that Nick constantly makes Kailey laugh! You can totally see that here. Any time I had them “walk,” they’d lean into each other without even realizing what they were doing!
Kailey had sent me some inspiration photos. Nothing too crazy…fairly simple and very classy. So, I went to another one of my random, little, “secret” spots. It’s just a golf path…I think! I don’t use it often but with the green and the clouds…I thought it’d compliment their save the dates and wedding vibe just fine!
I had them dance like I always do but these two are very “natural”…that’s the musical talent deep down, I know it!
…and Lucky had had ENOUGH! He wasn’t about to wait any longer! He NEEDED to see his parents…broken leash and all! He’s outta here!
Straight to his parents…and we’ll allow it because he’s the cutest “goodest” little boy (said in my best little baby/dog voice)!
I promised him we’d get him back in for some more photo time! Again, huge shoutout to Kailey’s mom for taking care of him while we finished up!
It’s the wind in the hair and skirt for me!
Remember what I said about them leaning in…and laughing?! I love how genuine this session felt and I totally loved photographing these two. They are beautiful people and SO easy to photograph!
Timeless and classic rings are BACK! I love that I’ve been doing this long enough to see trends evolve!
LUCKY!!! It’s your time to shine again, buddy! I’m cracking up I caught him mid air…so I had to include it, of course!! He’s a REALLY good sweet dog! I could snuggle him for hours!
Kailey told me, “We would like our wedding to be extremely focused on our relationship and us as a couple. We want all of the traditions, the games, the family and friends there to be with us.” They’re getting married in a little over a year, I have NO doubt it’s going to be fabulous!
Also, fun fact…I met Kailey, Nick and Tracey at the styled shoot back in April. “Met” is a stretch…they walked through to tour their venue and I was there BUT…you know I LOVE how the universe works!
