Sewickley Pennsylvania Engagement Photos |Sam + Nathan

Boy Ooo boy am I excited for this one! THIS was a “long time coming”…where are my Taylor Swift fans at?! OG Switfie right here! BUT anyway…Sam and Nathan’s engagement session is on the blog RIGHT NOW…she is the fourth and last wedding I’ll do for the Harrison family and it’s SO bittersweet. So, before I get to rambling in all my Hannah ways…please give this “new” couple (they’re not new…they’ve been on my blogs before) all your Hannah Barlow Photography love! It’s THEIR TIME to shine here because it’s THEIR big day coming up next year and I am SO pumped! ENJOY!

This is where I’m supposed to start talking about their couple fun fact survey and detail all the stuff they told me about themselves BUT I’m here to start wayyyyyyyyyy back. Back to 2018! That’s when I first met Sam! Then, I saw her again in 2021? 2022? I gotta double check that (It was 2022…I just went back and confirmed!)…then last year in 2024 at another wedding (these were all sister weddings) and NOW I got to see them again before their upcoming wedding next April. That’s a lot of meetings so I feel VERY at home with these two! I think…I’ve only met Nathan in person once? There’s so many details I’m most likely messing it all up in my head BUT that’s because he’s in the Air Force..just like my husband. Sam and I have that in common…we’re Air Force girlfriends/fiances…and she’ll soon be a wife! He wasn’t granted leave for the last wedding last year so it was SO nice to see him in person again!

So, they opted for a Sewickley, PA engagement session. I traveled up there! This was the VERY first “test shot” I took…and it made the gallery! I already knew I was winning at this session!

Ahhhhh!!! SUMMER! I’ve missed summer greens and all those pops of color!

These two tell me they met online years ago and were together five years before they got engaged! Their whole story moved me…from Christmas time…to a city Christmas tree…to ladies freaking out when he got down on one knee…to a older gentleman singing “Another One Bites the Dust”….it ALL sounds really Hallmark and since I know these two and know how sweet and kind they are in the BEST human way…it all adds up! Actually, Hallmark should make movies about each sister in this family! Two sets of twins…all girls…same photographer? Who do we need to call?! I also know the men in these groups are positively OVER me and my crazy ideas! HA!

While I always prefer color…black and white photos are just ‘something’, right?!

At this point, we were all getting cozy together and I was getting closer and closer to “THAT” vision I had! I talked it over with Sam at the beginning of this session and we went with the word “quaint”…that’s what we wanted for this gallery! I’m googling the word now and not sure I really knew the true definition BUT…”old fashioned” was in there and I pictured this session as “classy” with a modern twist!

So, we took a walk AND THIS location called to me. Nathan told me that Sam had told him to just “trust” me and that I’d make a trash can look good! SO, when we stopped at this jewelry store…they didn’t even bat an eye! I was feeling it…THIS was the location! This is what I needed!

It’s classy. It’s simple…while being SO beautiful! AHHHHHH!!! Having all the Hannah feels here! I think you can tell from their posing and demeanor they were feeling it too without even know what the photos looked like (yet)!

So, I reversed our direction because I LOVED the green tree on this side…you know I love the green! How perfect! ALSO…I’d love to point out their walk and snuggle…produced one of my favorite snuggles EVER (photo on the right below).

Ahhhhh…more walking!

At this point, we took a walk down the street. I was searching for the light and I didn’t find it. So, we made our way back and I found this little parking lot (ironically…at the same brick building) and it popped right out OooooOo so golden and pretty!

A dance. A snuggle. And a DIP!

I feel like my color obsessed brain really doesn’t give the black and white photos enough time to shine!

But color and sparkly engagement rings will ALWAYS win my heart!

…and because they will have purple in their wedding, I found some flowers I could make purple to REALLY show off this sparkle!

And that’s it! Sam and Nathan’s engagement session in Sewickley, PA is complete! These two are planning an elegant Pittsburgh affair with their family and friends next April! SO FAR…it’s the first wedding on the list for 2026! We will see! Thanks for reading everyone! Have a great day!
