Frazeysburg, Ohio Wedding | Alexis & Silas

Hello, everyone! It’s been a LONG two months away from weddings for me and I’m BACK! It feels so good too! As you all know, we were out of town last weekend to go celebrate and photograph Alexis and Silas’ wedding in Frazeysburg, Ohio! If there’s one thing and only one thing I’d be allowed to say in this blog and the common theme you’re going to read over and over…it’s the power of friendship, family, love and faith in this group of people! I’m not sure there’s another group like them! So, before I get going too fast and too much…please give these two ALL your Hannah Barlow Photography love! Their wedding is on blog right now! ENJOY! The new Mr. & Mrs., everyone!

As soon as we arrived to Alexis’ family’s property, we were greeted by many faces and immediately noticed what Alexis said when she told me previously she couldn’t have done this wedding without her family and friends. There was hustling and bustling going on everywhere but in the BEST way…not the usual hurried, chaotic wedding way. Nope! At one point, I even said I wanted them to adopt me!

…and so…we got right in the middle of it! We met up with the ladies who were calmly and joyfully getting ready and then we collected details and got right down to business!

The flower wall trend has been going on for some time but NONE of my couples have done it yet! I was SO pumped to see and photograph one! It was a HUGE hit on my social media pages too when I posted the sneak peek!

After hair and makeup was complete, we started to get this bride and everyone ready!

Then, mom jumped in to help and then we did first looks with some of the very important men in Alexis’ life!

…and then we did first looks with her lady friends and family and got right down to bridal party photos but separately because Alexis and Silas opted out of a first look! I enjoy that many of my couples still enjoy a more traditional approach. I’d say my couples are still 50/50 on first looks or not to first look!

I was nervous about 11 (yep…eleven) people on each side of the bridal party because I’ve photographed big bridal parties many times and it usually takes a good while to arrange and photograph everyone…NOT with this group though! I couldn’t say it enough even out loud and over and over but it was VERY clear how close this group of friends are and they were so incredibly great to work with!

…AND the same went for the men! I’ve NEVER that I can remember been able to photograph 24 people this quickly! It was amazing!

After that, the ladies called me back upstairs to photograph their moment of prayer together as a group.

Then, it was time to watch Alexis and Silas get married! The backyard ceremony set up was seriously impressive! Here comes the bride!

Alexis is sweet and she wanted to do full bridal party before family so they could go mingle and enjoy cocktail hour! Then, we got right down to family formals! I posted some of those in the sneak peek!

Alexis and Silas don’t love being the center of attention…they’ll tell you that themselves! BUT where they absolutely shine is those candid, fun moments. Remember their engagement session? –> HERE …that love and joy came right back out during photos (minus any rain, of course) ESPECIALLY when we prompted them with less posed prompts.

I HAD to get them with their book wall!

I found a tree too I really liked! I wanted to give them just a bit more variety before we cut them loose for the reception!

Then, it was time for that reception, dinner, and speeches!

The DJ announced special dances after dinner!

Remember how I mentioned they don’t like to be the center of attention? Well, here you go! They opted to SERVE the dessert to their guests. They definitely have servants’ hearts!

Then, it was last call for bridal wars…the group with the most money got to pie the other side of the bridal party in the face! That’s right!

The men lost…by five dollars! Also, it got dark REALLY fast! Looking at these photos…wow!

The seating chart and glasses were also their favors and ALSO their sangria drink glasses!

Once again, the couple opted to share those important moments so they shared their first dance with all their family and friends present!

…I’m not sure what I expected but it wasn’t a rockin’ party like THIS! Many tent weddings at home that I’ve done have little dancing and lots of mingling…not this group! Once that dance floor was opened up…it was PACKED and gave us all kinds of moments to photograph!

And that’s how we left that night…with a rocking party still happening! Alexis and Silas are MARRIED…and that’s a wrap on another wedding of the year! To the happy couple, I hope this wedding was everything you wanted it to be and MORE! Thank you for welcoming Jenna, Lacey and I to your family’s property and making us such a part of your big day! Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope to see some of you locally again soon!
