Hello, everyone! One of the last engagement sessions of the year is here! I can’t even believe it is the end of 2025! Katie and Derrik opted for a fall engagement session and after a lot of back and forth over the date and this weather (tis the season)…we finally (after I texted and said “let’s do it today….” very last minute) got to get these photos done! I’m SO glad we did too because the next day after this was cold…and snowy (so not a fall vibe…at all)! As I always say, it’s meant to be when it’s meant to be!

I met Katie years and years ago! Actually…her late brother and my husband served together in the Air Force and we were all the best of friends! So, that’s how Katie and I ended up crossing paths and we go WAY back (like a decade)! She also happens to work now with one of my DJ friends (Hey, Brian)! He won’t read this…but it was worth a shoutout. We’ll see! This is his test!
So, as you can imagine, I was super excited when she reached out and asked me to photograph her wedding! I haven’t seen Katie in YEARS!

She told me she was somewhat nervous about these photos…where to do them…when to do them…how to pose…etc. When I first met Derrik this day, I said, “Did she tell you how professionally bossy I am?!” I also went RIGHT into posing…no prep…no speech. He got thrown RIGHT in and didn’t miss a beat!

AND it all worked out. She LOVED the stone and brick but had also mentioned loving fall. This was just the place and I knew we could make it look fall with what little leaves we had left! She was also very much “I trust you Hannah” and I always appreciate that because we all know I come up with some very random spots. I told Derrik, “This session will very much be our first exercise in trust..” because what do I always say, “You’re just going to have to trust me”! If you have a vision, it’s my job to make it come to life!

AND they did trust me and were absolutely 100% go with the flow! That always leads to the most fun and pretty galleries!

They kept it simple with their outfits too! Katie even said she borrowed this dress from a friend!

Black and whites turned out great too!

We flew through all the poses so I wanted to focus on this BEAUTIFUL and gorgeous diamond she has on her hand! So, we mixed it up a bit with posing here toward the end and really zoomed in on the little details of everything!

…and one more moment for the diamond! Holy moly….she is a BEAUT!

These two will be getting married next year…my first Friday wedding I’ve had in a long time!
2026 weddings are going to be here before we know it! It’s so crazy to me!
