Windy Wheeling Fall Engagement Photos

Hello, Hello…Hello!  The second Hannah Barlow Photography blog for the day is coming RIGHT at ya!  I’m coming down the home stretch for the year.  I have a new couple again for you though!  Meet Andrea, Brandon and Luna!  Their family is on the blog right now!  Enjoy!

Andrea reached out to me recently like many other couples and requested we get their photos done this fall.  They’re getting married next September (on my birthday actually) so the opportunity for fall leaves was now in 2020!  So, I scheduled them right before another session because dates are so limited these days…and it ended up being free of rain BUT SO windy.  SO windy.  Like, 20 MPH winds…and hair everywhere (mine included)!  So, I used one of my favorite “hiding spots” to get some photos sans wind.  I told them I thought it was a good idea to do those before we walked out in the fall foliage and braved the elements! They agreed!

Luna was a total surprise for me!  She hopped right out of the car and I introduced myself to her actually even before I introduced myself to Andrea and Brandon.  She was a total sweetie and gave me lots of doggie kisses RIGHT on the cheek!  She was a total star for her photos too.  Andrea and Brandon told me they weren’t sure how she would behave.  Not only did she like my crazy sounds (if I’ve photographed you, your child, or fur baby…you know what I’m talking about) but she also liked “SQUIRREL” which is something I learned from Tik Tok recently…apparently dogs love that word…and Luna aced the test!

They weren’t sure she’d do this one either but she did GREAT!

Just a few more for this location!  These two were so kind and not fussy in the least!  Brandon even told me he was somewhere in the middle of my photo scale (for how much you love having your photo taken).  I mean, that’s a win for me!

Alright, we were going for it.  We were going to brave the wind.  There were times I just stood there because it was whipping so much it wasn’t even worth taking a photo.  Hair everywhere.  Leaves everywhere.  My eyes were watering like you wouldn’t believe.  We raced that wind and took advantage of the few seconds here and there that it wasn’t blowing like crazy!  I’m sad the ooey gooey fall light photos are coming to an end.  Heck, there isn’t a leaf on a tree in sight where I live these days!

It’s couples like this…I know they’re going to have a stress free wedding.  Some people would have been in a full blown panic with this wind.  Nope.  Not these two!

That ring is going to look so good on an invitation!

We were wrapping things up and I asked if they wanted to practice a dip.  They were on board!  I gave them my usual speech and they went for it.  I did tell Brandon…”You can’t drop her” and then I told Andrea, “You gotta trust him not to drop you…” AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

So, I was cracking up laughing when his foot came up (above).  He held her steady though…with a smile on his face!  He said it was totally for sake of balance so he didn’t go down!

Yup!  NAILED IT!  They rocked it!

Oooo man.  That’s going to be an amazing dip next year with a gown!  Maybe we’ll come back to this spot too AND it could have that ooey gooey light but with green leaves!  We’ll have to wait and see!  Check back next September for their wedding!  Thanks for reading!  It’s nice to “meet’ all you new readers out there!  Happy Wednesday!
