March Oglebay Elopement Wedding

Hello Hello, everyone!  Good Morning and Happy Thursday!  The Hannah Barlow Photography blogs are starting back up!  Did all you loyal readers enjoy the break?  While it was a nice break for me too, I’m ready for more…weddings…all the wedding goodness!  So, slowly, in the next month, you’re going to start seeing more and more pop up again!!  So, let’s do this…starting with this sweet, amazingly spunky couple!  Lynn and Brent tied the knot last weekend at Oglebay at a small, intimate March Oglebay Elopement Wedding.  Give them all your Hannah Barlow Photography love and enjoy the new Mr. & Mrs. on the blog today!

It’s “rumored” that the new “wedding trend” this year will be more color…more pop…more contrast.  Since I started this wedding photography journey years ago, that’s always been my love – COLOR.  SO, this year will be especially exciting if this rumored trend comes true and I sure think that it will! Just look at these beautiful bridal details!

You all know I’m a lot of personality coming into a wedding day.  Emily and I started the day with these beautiful ladies and I so quickly realized that my spunky personality was going to fit right in with this group!  We had an amazing hour together getting ready and lots of hoots, hollers…and most importantly…laughs and smiles!

Before Lynn’s mother passed, her daughters told her to let them know when she was around and wouldn’t you know it, feathers started to show up here and there.  So, on this day, they placed a feather in Lynn’s bouquet to make sure their mother was a part of her wedding.

Right before we headed up for the ceremony, selfies had to be captured!  Lynn’s nieces took charge!

Then, it was time to get these two married!  Brent was very calm and serious leading up to this point BUT…his reaction may have been one of my favorites.  When Lynn turned that corner, I heard him mumble, “Holy —-“.  You can fill in the blank but it was THE BEST reaction because it was so sincere.  He was so impressed and excited to see Lynn turn that corner.  Can’t blame the guy, that dress fit her like it was MADE for her and her smile really lights up a room!

I wasn’t surprised that even their wedding ceremony had some great laughs.  oOoo and hey, there…Mr. Brian Oliver – officiating again!

Short. Sweet.  Right to the point and Emily NAILED her first first kiss photo from the side (photo on the right below)!  We both did!

Introducing the new couple!

Then, we headed outside for some family photos while Emily did her first run as getaway driver.  While I was doing this, she went and got my car for me so we could have it ready for the couple to head over to Oglebay’s mansion!

I didn’t let Brent get away with not having his own groom shots!  It was at this point…when the jokes started rolling…I knew I could be myself!  My volume hit a high at that point!  If you know me, you know!

Then, we packed the couple in my very messy car (I really should have cleaned it…new pre-wedding goals on my checklist) and headed over to Oglebay’s mansion.  This couple wanted the quintessential “Oglebay” wedding photos.  Ask and you shall recieve!

This is when Brent’s personality REALLY came out!

That didn’t stop us from taking some AMAZING black and whites!

Walking…of course!  In love…

Then, as they were heading back to the car…I caught them in their element.  Just being themselves…enjoying being married!

…and THIS…became my favorite of the bunch!  EEEKKK!! Love it! SO MUCH!

So, Emily and I dropped the couple off at the front of Oglebay’s lodge and then we parked the car and raced back up to the Fort Henry Room!

…and right before dinner, we captured the couple cutting cake, attempting to smash cake, and then eating cake.

And just like that, my third wedding of the year and short day was over!  Lynn and Brent were an amazing couple to photograph for an elopement.  It was the first beautiful day of 2021 for me to shoot a wedding too!  They did it!  They’re a married couple now and they did it surrounded by their closest family.  One more time, give them all your Hannah Barlow Photography love!  CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks for reading!  Have an AMAZING day!
