Another wedding is on the blog, Katie and Derrik’s Belmont Hills Country Club wedding is live now! It’s my first wedding this year that feels truly FALL! So, please give them all your Hannah Barlow Photography love! Enjoy!

It’s been a hot second since I’ve done a Belmont County Country Club wedding and if I remember correctly, the last one was 14 degrees out and snowy! So, this one was vastly different especially since the weather quite literally could NOT have been more perfect!!! I can’t even believe it. It was literally the most perfect fall day!
Becca and I arrived to Belmont Hills Country Club and got right down to it. Katie and Derrik were having a more traditional, smaller wedding BUT they wanted all the important things photographed and that meant lots and lots of candid, getting ready moments!

As I do with all weddings, I made these notes and made sure to get right down to business with all the priorities – family moments, friend moments…all the moments!

In between all that, we did get some detail photos! They’re a MUST for any wedding!

Then, Katie got dressed! It was a very laid back morning. Becca and I often found ourselves joking, “I don’t know what to do with my hands!” because we’re used to everything being rushed and having a photo list three pages long and there was so much laid back time at this point in the day at this wedding! There was none of that panic we usually feel! We DID fall behind on timeline…this blog is all about the honest! I told Katie was going to start having to drag her around (I almost did at one point) BUT…there was no large photo list and I was playing paparazzi. I knew we’d get caught up and THAT is on being surrounded by amazing people and the candid moments being priority.

Derrik and Ben got ready too!

Then, it was time for the ceremony! I HAVE photographed wedding receptions at this country club but this was my first time photographing a wedding ceremony here!

Keeping with the “candid moments” theme of my to do list this day, these moments below were some of my favorites!

…and the “we just got married” smiles were amazing too!

Then, we got right down to family formals AND that included some of their closest family and friends. They didn’t have an official bridal party but still asked for some of these photos! Katie had just met some of Derrik’s friends this weekend too which I thought was so fun!

Katie wasn’t a HUGE fan of being the center of attention this day but I told her she HAD to have some bridal portraits! I LOVE her dress too! I’ve never photographed one like it!

Then, HUGE shoutout to the gal who brought their dog for just a few photos! You’re the real MVP!

Katie asked for some specific “golf” themed wedding photos! Those were priority so we did those first! I also learned that golf carts have GPS and you can and can’t drive them certain places. They literally just stop!

Then, we got right down to couple portraits! I couldn’t decide if I wanted to go full fall…or not fall…or somewhere in between. Katie didn’t care! Their engagement session (HERE) was VERY fall so I decided to meet in the middle for their wedding photos!

Here’s what I mean! This is a side by side of my photo and Becca’s photo (below). It was all about that ONE tree that made it look REALLY fall. So, we tag teamed the angles to make it happen both WITH the color and without!

The veil flew and the light was doing its thing and it made for GREAT photos! I’m telling you…the weather was PERFECTION!

Black and whites were amazing too!! Don’t let photographers fool you…it’s not that hard to deliver both color AND black and white!

Then, the candles were lit inside so we ran in and got some last minute reception details before guests entered!

Belmont Hills Country Club has a beautiful space for wedding receptions!

The couple was announced and they came right in to do their first dance (complete with what the kids called “fireworks”). Then they cut their cake and sat down to listen to speeches!

Then, DJ Brian Oliver opened up the dance floor and got the party started before we took off!

Katie and I go WAY back…so was such a compliment when she asked me to photograph her wedding! It was also so nice to meet Derrik at their engagement session and then see many familiar faces at their wedding! This wedding was a nice slow down for us! There was no giant bridal party or the hectic chaos that often ensues at most weddings. It was just your average sized group of family and friends very much enjoying this couple, the kids and everyone’s company! SO, please give the new Mr. & Mrs. Baugh all your HBP love! They are MARRIED!
