Country Wheeling Engagement Session | Hannah Barlow Photography | WV Wedding Photography

Happy Friday, everyone!  I still can’t jump on the “FriYAY” train yet…maybe I’ll get there though!  I’m getting to be an old lady, for real!  Anyway, meet Morgan and Zach!  They’re the most recent couple to pose for their engagement photos and everything about this session is earthy and pretty and so fun!  Check out some of my favorites!

Here it goes! Enjoy!  Seriously, the light couldn’t have been any better this day! GAH!

I met this sweet lady almost a year ago! I can’t believe it!  She was on the ball when she started planning her wedding (almost two whole years in advance).  So, she searched out wedding photographers and called me up!  We met up for some coffee and she enlisted two of her close girlfriends to get some extra opinions on me!  Luckily, they all decided I was the right person to photograph her wedding and I couldn’t be more excited!  She’s the sweetest and has always been so kind and down to earth!

Now, let’s meet Zach.  Even though I had been chatting with Morgan for almost a year, this was the first time I had met him!  We first met up at their house and drove to a friend’s private cabin to shoot these photos (ironically, the cabin didn’t end up in any of the images…HA!).    I quickly learned Zach doesn’t mind having his photo taken and you all know how excited I get when I find out a groom doesn’t hate my camera!  These poor guys.  They’re probably going to start swapping notes because I seriously can’t get enough of a man who doesn’t mind standing and posing! I tend to take full advantage and take SO MANY photos of the guys!  This particular wedding is going to rock! For real!  I can hear them now…”Dude, don’t mention that you don’t mind having your photo taken because you’ll end up in HUNDREDS.”  Really though…keep them coming!  Brides love great photos of their grooms all dressed to impress!  Photographers love it too!

These two are SO sweet together and willing to do and try just about anything!  Zach was very attentive with Morgan and did just about anything I asked him to do…including “sniffing her face”.  Seriously, I don’t make this stuff up!  I ask the guys (who are willing) to sniff their girl’s face…and look what happens!!! We’ve got cuddles and giggles and a beautiful photo! HA! I never claimed my posing was “normal”…but it WORKS!  That light too…UGH!!! Can we just talk about that pretty light for a minute?!  It was perfect! The weather was perfect too! Not too hot…not too cold! PERFECT, I tell ya!

This autumn has been really strange.  For the past couple of years, the third week of October has been “prime time” for fall foliage.  Well, not this year!  I’ve been striving to give all my couples who planned for a “fall” session to have the “fall” feel!  So, I moved these two into all these leaves that had fallen to the ground!  It was pretty perfect!  I can’t remember what Morgan was laughing about in that bottom photo but I really loved the moment!  She’s all smiles…always!  I love that about her!

…more cuddling!

Zach was on it with this gravel driveway!  I would have chosen the location anyway (you all know I love those leading lines) but he spotted it and was on it!  So, there was walking and snuggling on this path, of course!

…and dancing on a stone bridge!

Morgan mentioned she wanted to incorporate this canoe into the mix!  Well, why not?!  Look how earthy and “nature” like this feels! AHHHH!!!

There was more walking and snuggling AND dipping!  Zach claimed he wasn’t sure how to dip BUT I didn’t have to coach them at all!  Check out his stance! He’s on it!  Sometimes I worry the guys might drop the girls…not this time!  His stance was all about supporting her!  Nailed it!

I wanted to get some warm, snuggly photos since the sun was setting!  Can’t you just picture this recreation on their wedding day?!

Zach also mentioned this fence!  I LOVE his attention to detail!  Leading lines make my photographer heart HAPPY!  These two snuggling on the fence make me even happier!

…andddddd because they are Notre Dame fans, they did an outfit change!  I actually LOVE this set of photos!  I also grabbed some mustard flower (is that what it is?! HA!) to add some yellow to that beautiful ring shot!

I’d like to take a moment to talk about this ring.  It is very special.  WHY?!  Well, because Zach asked if he could use her grandmother’s diamond in her ring! That’s right! AHHHHHHH!!!  Isn’t that the sweetest thing?!  It’s like a story! EEKKK!

Well, I hope you’re all enjoying your Friday and this post!  These two will become man and wife next September!  Both their wedding ceremony and wedding reception will be held in Wheeling, WV!  I can’t wait!  Check back to see those beauties! Have a great weekend!
