Undos West St. Clairsville, Ohio Wedding

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  That’s right…it’s a TUESDAY!  Kate and Devin are on the blog already because I was so dang excited about these photos (and so was my editor, Ali).  So, please give them all your Hannah Barlow Photography love because their wedding is on the blog and this is the first time for them too!  Enjoy their Undo’s West wedding in St. Clairsville, Ohio!  Thanks in advance for reading!

I grabbed Sam last Friday at Undo’s West because that was going to be our end location.  I texted Kate and off we went!  Talk about laid back!  I’d met her mom (Hi, Joyce) years and years ago and we actually worked together as nurses side by side.  I’d “met” Kate a few times when she popped in to see her mom but we didn’t actually know each other or ever really talk.  So, it was the BEST compliment when Joyce called me and told me they HAD to have me, and only me, do Kate’s photos.  I MEAN…my wedding photographer heart could explode when this happens!  So, I grabbed her details and then Sam and I tag teamed getting these done!

Mom and daughter moments in black and white can be SO powerful!  The time before the wedding just FLEW!

I’d popped in and introduced myself to the Devin, his groomsmen, and the dads and then we prepped for the ceremony.

Here comes the bride!  His reaction was priceless…it was like antsy, excited, anticipatory energy coming right off him!

I used the word “smitten” a lot when describing these two to my family and friends and the Hannah Barlow Photography team (who always want a play by play of each wedding afterwards).  These two just giggled and genuinely smile at one another constantly and this ceremony showed all of that!

These children SMILED for me…over and over and over again! AHHHH!! Kids never like me (I think I’m just too much for them…HA!).  Not these ones…look at these family photos!  I’d call it a huge success!

Then, we left St. Clairsville and headed to Oglebay – Kate’s requested photo location.  Oglebay was literally her ONLY request and then she just told me to do my thing!  Check out these pretty ladies!  The light and colors and everything was just coming together beautifully.  I don’t know WHAT was happening, but I was never stressed…and I’m almost always stressed at some point or another at any given wedding.  Not this day!  Only positive energy here!

KATE! GIRLLLLL.  I can’t! Also, those flowers are wooden.  Sam and I (not to toot our own horns) were really killing it with the differing angles.  It’s hard to be in the same place and make photos look different but it was just working beautifully for us which got me even more excited.  These are a good half and half mixture of her photos and mine and we took SOOoOoooo many.  Even more than this!

Tragically, they lost a groomsman just days before this wedding.  So, in his honor, they left his space open so we would always know he was there in spirit!

The men most certainly did not let the women show them up!

NOW, I would apologize for the overload of bride and groom formals about to be seen…but I won’t.  I wasn’t even sorry when I took these because we actually took them VERY quickly but everything was just perfect, I’m telling you.  I was squealing all the Hannah squeals and Sam and I were just beside ourselves with excitement (even though Sam has the very best poker face).  LOOK at all of these…AND these are only my very most favorites.  There’s so much more in their gallery!

A tiny change of location made a HUGE difference for variety! AHHHHH!  I can’t choose a favorite.  I can’t!

I wanted to give just a few bold colored photos!

Then, we lightened things up again and while I almost shared the color versions, I decided to throw in the black and whites here instead!  Don’t worry, they get both color AND black and white!  Yep!

Then, we headed off to Undo’s West in St. Clairsville, Ohio to catch those last minute reception details.  We caught up with DJ Daner, got his game plan for the night and off we went!

Mr. & Mrs. Carpino, everyone!  Their introduction was followed by heartfelt speeches from the bride, matron of honor, and groomsman.

First dances and lots and lots of laughs!

We had Undo’s food which is always my FAVORITE!  I actually got married here 13 years ago and the food is the one thing people always mention!  It was JUST as great this time too…nothing’s changed! YAY!  Then, it was time to party the night away with DJ Daner!

Kate and Devin were BY FAR…one of my easiest and most laid back couples of this wedding season.  It was the greatest compliment they asked me to be their wedding photographer and it was just amazing that I got to not only spend the day with Joyce, literally a former co-worker of mine, but I also got to chat with some other nurses I used to work with.  It was just kind of like a “twilight zone” for me to be talking to them, a wedding photographer now, about our days as nurses and their current days of the COVID pandemic.  It’s amazing where life takes you and if I haven’t said it before…I’ll say it again…FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS, everyone.  Don’t let anything stop you.  It’s people like Kate and Devin and their family and friends who make this possible for me and I wouldn’t change it for the WORLD.  Another HUGE thanks and congrats goes out to everyone.  Thank you for making this such an amazing and stress free day!  I hope it was everything this couple wanted and MORE! Happy Tuesday again!  CONGRATS TO THE NEW CARPINOS!
