Wheeling Summer Engagement Session | Hannah Barlow Photography | WV Wedding Photography

Hello! Hello, everyone!  Happy Monday!  I’ve got yet another engagement session to present to you all!! It’s a REAL goodie too!  So, sit back, relax, and enjoy this adorable couple’s lovey engagement photos!

Meet Mattie and Noah!

These two are so sweet and adorable together.  I can’t even stand it!  They’re youngsters just like I was when I got married!! I got engaged when I was just 20 years old and was married when I was 22 years old.  That just seems so young to me looking back but it was meant to be…just like these two! <3  Not much has changed for me (except our looks and a couple kids, of course).  So, this couple reminds me a lot of my husband and I.  When they look back on these photos and memories, they’ll feel like babies too!! I often do that when it comes to our old engagement photos!  I just can’t believe how much time has passed!  I didn’t have photos like this though and I’m bound and determined to get some on my wall this year because my couples are killing it and I’m totally jealous!

I mean…just look at them!! This was photo #2 of the entire session and they already looked so comfortable!  You just can’t make this stuff up!

Help me out!  I could NOT decide if I liked black and white or color!! You let me know!  Slightly different photos (same poses).  GAH! I just can’t decide!

I think I like color!  I liked color on some past sessions too though so maybe I’m just in a color mood OR my couples are just picking color palettes that are just so pretty and soothing!

So, these two have a cute engagement story!  Noah asked Mattie’s mom if he could ask for her hand in marriage (sounds so old fashioned, right?!…I love it!).  Noah kept the ring in his shoe on the day he planned to ask her.  That’s right.  You read it correctly.  He KEPT THE RING IN HIS SHOE!  HIS SHOE!  He kept the ring in his shoe ALL DAY (in case I wasn’t clear before)!  You all know me…that gives me SERIOUS anxiety just thinking about it!  For real!  He clearly doesn’t read my blogs.  He should know better!  As a result, I declare he is NOT in charge of the rings come May 18th! HA!  Anyway, when the time came for him to pop the question…Mattie tells me he ALMOST dropped the ring down a grate.  Uh huh. See?!  THAT is why I don’t put the rings near grates or rocks we can’t move or cracks in the concrete…NO WAY!  Nonetheless, it makes for an amazing engagement story AND Mattie said “YES!”, of course!  They’ll forever remember those moments and it makes for a better story than the plain old…”He asked and I agreed” type of thing!  Plus, what would I put in my blog?!

But anyway…now, here we were taking amazingly beautiful photos of them a little less than a year before they say “I do”!  They nailed it!

I had an idea.  I once did a family session at this location years ago.  I needed Mattie up on that stone though and sure enough…Noah lifted her up and set her there! AH!  I read about this stuff in books but then I see that it happen in real life…and my heart is complete!  Seriously, how’d I get so lucky!

I love it.  I love everything about this!! I love it so much that I may see if these two love birds want to come back to this exact spot on their wedding day and take photos!  Just imagine her dress on that wall…..ANDDDDDDDDD I’ve seen her dress!  It’s true!  It’s GORGEOUS!  So, I REALLY know what it could look like and what’s in my head is utterly amazing!

I’m swooning over here.  Anyone else?

These two are just very comfortable together.  There wasn’t any nervousness or that chatty bantering.  Even my husband and I do that sometimes.  These two were just calm and in love and game for whatever I wanted them to do!  I think it shines through these photos!

They wanted to test out their dip, of course!! Check out her leg!! We’ve got another winner here!  They said they had been practicing! HA!

We seriously flew through this session because it was just too easy!! So, before we finished up I had them dance.  As you can see, they got nice and cozy.  Ironically, they took prom pictures at this EXACT location too!

Channeling my inner Kari here.  Trying to fill the frame!  It’s harder than it looks!  She’s a rocket sceintist when it comes to filling the frame!  I did love these though!

Check out this ring! AHH!  It’s got amazing detail on the side too!  He did good!  i’m glad Mattie gets to keep it!

FINALLY…the sun popped out.  Since this is the year of chasing the light and making it work for me…I returned to this spot and made it work!  I love love love how it is lighting up her hair!  My daughter thinks Mattie popped right out of one of her story books!  It is so totally sweet!

…and one last one per Noah’s suggestion.  These two admitted they didn’t mind having their photo taken but Mattie seemed extra surprised when Noah suggested we take a photo by the fountain!  I’m not one to say “no”…so I went with it!  I actually really love it! This was an authenitc moment too.  YAY!  They rocked the grand finale of picture time!

These two are getting married next spring in May and I’ll be the lucky one photographing their wedding, of course!  Everyone…and I mean everyone…think good vibes for them!! They deserve it!  They already were forced to make a venue change.  A vendor showed up this year instead of next year.  Noah almost lost the ring (I’m just messing with ya! HA!).  So, I can only imagine they’re going to have a PERFECT wedding day, right?! RIGHT!  They’re working out all the kinks now so the day will be flawless!

Check back next spring!

Remember, don’t forget to give them lots and lots of love so Facebook will let lots of people see their blog post!  It is MUCH appreciated!

Have a GREAT day, everyone!
